No, someone is not "gonna know better". That, for some reason, is the point. More often than not, they hire writers who know nothing about the source material to "broaden the appeal" - thereby effectively neutering what made it so great and successful in the first place.

What happened 2 months ago is about more than just #saveStargate, it represents a massive shift in AmazonMGM policy. Where a greenlight once protected creatives and fans from executive interference, it no longer does.

FYI Prime Video has started hiding all replies that contain the word, "Stargate".
I added two versions of a comment to Prime Video's latest post. One with the word "Stargate" and one without. The one with "Stargate" was immediately hidden.
It appears all posts with the word "Stargate", regardless of whether #SaveStargate is included, are being hidden.
Curiously, this does not appear to be the case yet on Amazon MGM Studios posts.

@AmazonMGMStudios, it's telling that even people who aren't Stargate fans are now noticing how disrespectfully you've treated one of your most loyal fanbases.
When outsiders are calling you out, it's no longer "just fans complaining"—it's a reputation problem.
