OIL - BREAKING OUT? After 3 failed attempts to break its 18-year-old resistance, oil is now making another try. Breaking this level would most likely unleash a strong upside move given its importance and the catalyst it would represent for momentum chasers. Remember that oil (once adjusted for money supply) remains in the lower end of its long-term cycle, where the upside potential outpaces (by far) the downside risk. Add to this a strengthening monthly MACD and a RSI far from overbought, and you get the recipe for a highly asymmetric trade. Time will tell if we end the month with a major breakout. It may be time to (re)read the article below, which remains more than relevant today. #OOTT $XLE $USO $TTE

PETROBRAS - 23% HIGHER 3 weeks later, Petrobras is up 23% but its P/E barely move, due to higher expected earnings. Indeed, its P/E of 5.6 and dividend yield of 5% still classify it as a real value play. Meanwhile, its momentum is strengthening, with a diverging monthly MACD and moving averages converging upwards. $PBR $EWZ $XLE
PETROBRAS The Brazilian leader has now successfully re-tested its 5-year moving average. • P/E: 5.4 • Dividend Yield: 6% $PBR $EWZ

$MLP.V @MLPotash My highest conviction investment. Q4 2026 through mid-2027 is shaping up to be the most significant period in the company's history: Drilling, MRE, DFS, Port Agreement, Offtakes, Construction Financing (per management targets). Chart is setting up nicely.
$MLP.V @MLPotash Getting a bid - in a horrible macro tape. Time to pay close attention. 👀

OIL - ANOTHER TRIAL After 3 failed attempts to break its 18-year-old trend, oil is now ready for another trial. If successful, this could unleash the leg up oil needed to catch up with most other commodities, whose price have already substantially risen. Meanwhile, it is encouraging for bulls to see that: • Its monthly MACD is positive and widening. • Its monthly RSI is at 61, far from an overbought level. #OOTT $XLE $XOP $TTE

This chart is always a good reminder of where we stand today with precious metals. A major run-up, followed by a healthy correction, now sitting near major support. Long-term investors know what to do here. tavicosta.substack.com/p/top…

Commodities relative to M2 are at historic lows. Money supply has grown far faster than commodity prices over the past decade despite years of underinvestment. Meanwhile we've entered a new inflationary regime. During the last inflationary cycle in the 70s, commodities were the best performing asset class. I expect history to rhyme.

Managed to nail the three previous tops in the US Dollar, which can be seen in previous posts, e.g. in the post linked below. USD will go down much much further big picture, but right here, USD is at an inflection point. If USD rolls over here, we could get one of my "everything but USD" up moves. If USD continues up here, we might get an "everything but USD" down move. Next Fed FOMC meeting might actually mean something this time around. There are other charts that indicate what we will get, but let´s see.
Managed to nail the two previous tops in the US Dollar, so I of course have to try and do it this time around too. So here it goes => now calling the USD top right here. The Euro looks ready here now for putting in the weekly cycle low. And that means USD should be ready to top for the weekly cycle high. The Euro should push USD down as it moves up. This major currency cycles turn should mean that we will get one of my "everything but USD & yields" upmoves, i.e. USD dropping should push up almost everything for a while. #joinus graddhy.com

Update on the $XLE / $SPY ratio: Energy is continuing its outperformance and pushing higher and the key point: this is only just beginning. We’re still at the very bottom of a multi-year base. One day we’ll look back at this chart with very different eyes, wondering how #energy was ever this cheap relative to the broad market.
$XLE continues to outperform $SPY and that despite the S&P 500 holding near all-time highs. There is some clear momentum in the energy sector now and plenty more upside ahead in the ratio.

EMERGING MARKETS - AT A TURNING POINT After 15 years of underperformance, emerging markets have finally begun to outperform the S&P500 in 2025, as the EM-to-S&P500 ratio shows. Indeed, up 20% since this recent bottom, investors may wonder if they aren't coming late to the party. Speaking here about a decade-long movement, the bull market we now observe is likely still in its early stage. Indeed, with a ratio 80% below its former high, EMs remain good candidates for a catch up. While valuations are attractive, EMs have been consolidating for a few months relative to DMs, which is usual after such a strong move. The breakout of the ratio's 5-year moving average would definitively help unleash another leg up. I'd watch this level carefully. $EEM used as a proxy. $EWZ $KWEB

Fascinating chart. The commodity cycle was setting the stage for Brazilian stocks long before elections. Politics simply accelerated the move. What was a major obstacle could now become a powerful enabler. Exciting times likely ahead. tavicosta.substack.com/p/bra…

Refiners have to pass on shipping costs, so diesel crack spreads quickly shot up back over $100, as market laughs at the emergency release of 100MM barrels. Meanwhile, most still can't get physical oil and Dated brent is almost back to all time highs
Tanker rates just hit a new all time high: shipping now adds over $40 to the price of a barrel

There's the explosive move in $PBR.A. Up almost 50% since the backtest outlined in previous posts, now gaining real momentum on the latest news out of #Brazil. Bolsonaro's surprise first-round lead ahead of the Oct 25 runoff sent Petrobras and a whole range of Brazilian equities flying today — an insane session bringing some serious attention to the market.
As outlined in the previous post, $PBR.A is getting some nice price action now, and the next explosive move up seems to be on its way! #oil
