In 1977, Led Zeppelin embarked on their final North American tour, from April to July, in support of Presence. They sold out stadiums. On April 30, they played to a crowd of 76,229 at the Pontiac Silverdome, setting a world record for the largest indoor audience for a single artist.

Recent genetic research confirms that modern humans (Homo sapiens) and Neanderthals repeatedly interbred across a period spanning roughly 200,000 to 250,000 years.
While it was long believed that interbreeding occurred during a brief window about 50,000 to 60,000 years ago, advanced genomic mapping shows multiple waves of contact occurred much earlier:
200,000–250,000 years ago: An early wave of Homo sapiens migrating out of Africa encountered and mated with Neanderthals in Eurasia. The offspring from these early encounters integrated primarily into Neanderthal populations, leaving traces of modern human DNA inside Neanderthal genomes.
100,000–120,000 years ago: A second wave of contact occurred during intermediate migrations, continuing the genetic exchange.
47,000–60,000 years ago: The major and final period of gene flow took place over several thousand years as modern humans expanded permanently into Eurasia. Children born from these pairings were raised within human communities, passing down Neanderthal genes to present-day populations.
Because of these encounters, people of non-African descent today carry approximately 1% to 2% Neanderthal DNA in their genomes. Rather than dying out in complete isolation, Neanderthals were slowly absorbed into the modern human gene pool over tens of thousands of years.

Because many people have been asking us about it: Our favorite states from the trip were Tennessee, Alabama, and Texas. Our favorite town was Fairhope, Alabama, and our favorite food spot was Taco Bell.

We’re at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville tonight, which we’ve been told is the most historic and legendary country music venue in the world. There are many different artists here who each perform a couple of songs. It feels like the ultimate country music experience.

England may be out of the World Cup but I just wanted to take a moment to thank America for the tournament they’ve put on. 🇺🇸
I came here for sport but after travelling all around America I got to see that our media completely got it wrong about the USA. It’s a beautiful country filled with endless culture and friendly people.

A short recap of what we did over the last two weeks. Our route was Boston to Savannah, GA, down the coast and then back up to Clemson:
- Swam in a lot of lakes in Pennsylvania because of the heatwave
- Watched a pie eating contest in Virginia
- Celebrated 4th of July in Washington DC
- Relaxed at the beaches in Delaware
- Saw wild horses in Chincoteague, VA
- Went to the Outer Banks in North Carolina
- Had a baby bear block our road in North Carolina
- Tried many new fast food chains like Bojangles and Sonic
- Ate a lot (probably too much) at Taco Bell
- Played minigolf in Myrtle Beach
- Visited beautiful cities like Charleston and Savannah
- Saw an alligator and a lot more cool wildlife

Hello again.
We’re currently in Clemson, South Carolina. I’ve decided to come back here to document the final part of our road trip.
The main reason I deactivated my account two weeks ago was that things became increasingly toxic. For some people, it’s unfortunately unfathomable that a good story can exist without some kind of hidden agenda behind it. There was even a Reddit group going through my entire account trying to find anything they could use to reveal my identity.
I know this was only a small percentage of people, but after a while it became exhausting. During the last two weeks, I received so many kind messages on Instagram, and they really made me realize how many people genuinely enjoyed following the trip. Some people even told me that their grandparents regularly ask them, “What are the Germans up to today?” I think that’s really cool.
I decided to continue because I realized that the overwhelming majority of people loved following along. A small group of very loud people shouldn’t be able to ruin something that brought so many others joy.
I also want to clear something up, as people who follow me on Instagram already know.
I’ve been to the United States before. This is not my first visit, and I’ve never claimed that it was. The last time I was here was in January 2022, when I visited New York and Philadelphia.
A lot of people shared my Raising Cane’s post from November 2025 to make it look like I was secretly American. That post wasn’t from the United States, it was from my trip to Saudi Arabia.
This is my first time back in the U.S. in more than four years, and apart from Boston, I’d never visited any of the places we’ve been to on this trip before. That’s probably why many people assumed it was our first time in America, because for all of these places, it actually was.
And let me tell you, Ohio and Alabama are very different from New York City or Los Angeles.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Thanks for reading.

It should be shared with my forever teammates, coaches, and ultimately YOU, the fans.
You and I are forever tied to 44
You gave me breath
I gave you heart.
And I hope more laughs than tears.

Long before they were selling out massive stadiums, David and Peter actually attended Bromley Technical High School together in London. In fact, Peter’s dad was David's art teacher! Fast forward to 1987, and Bowie was designing his massive, boundary-pushing Glass Spider World Tour. Wanting a powerhouse player on lead guitar, he called up his old school pal to join the band.
Did anyone the Glass Spider Tour live back in '87? 👇️

Unfortunately, for the next part of the journey, our travel group has been decimated to two people because one of us had to go back to work.💔
He’s trying everything possible to get back as soon as he can. As things stand, he’ll be back around July 10.
