Feels like there's few industries where merit matters less sometimes.
On the sidelines of tonight's event on sport industry, Amb @InigoLND bestowed the honor of "Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy" to @JamesHorncastle and @acjimbo for their great contribution in promoting Italian football and strengthening the cultural ties between 🇮🇹 and 🇬🇧

Can be fewer joyless activities than spending all day putting together a video compilation of your own player’s misses for social media likes.
If you can’t support them in the tough times you don’t deserve to support them in the good times.

This banner created by @GwladysSt1938 was intended to be displayed at the Burnley game last weekend - our closest home fixture to the anniversary of Hillsborough - but heavy winds meant it could not be unveiled for safety reasons. 💙❤️

"Come here and earn pennies looking after our most vulnerable people, but don't you even fucking dare think about bringing someone you love with you" is honestly the most callous, nasty bit of legislation imaginable even by the standards of these hate-filled bigots.

Can certain fan groups stop pretending that they want FFP to be rescinded for the ‘good of football’. The rules are pretty simple. Don’t lose more than £150m over a 3 year period.
That is a pretty massive advantage for those clubs who have owners willing to inject an additional £50m per season and write it off in ‘good will’. They make it even sweeter by allowing you to invest infinite funds in infrastructure. You could build a 100,000 seated stadium to increase revenues further. If you don’t have enough fans to take advantage of that then tough. The likes of Liverpool and Man Utd built their fan bases up over decades of hard work and great management. You can’t just skip the line.
You can even build the best training and youth facilities on the planet with zero implication on your FFP accounts to gain further advantage and attract better players than your rivals. If you can’t build a recruitment structure good enough to leverage that advantage well then again, you can’t just cheat your way by jumping the line and out buy clubs like Brighton who outsmarted you.
This isn’t about the ‘good of football’. This is about you wanting players like Mbappe as your Twitter avatar without having to outsmart anyone to becoming a club big enough that can buy them.
How is it fair on Spurs who spent 20 years increasing revenues through smart investments in infrastructure and now a world class recruitment model if you can just gazump them on any player with money. We spent 2 decades working on a model that make us self sustaining and you want to destroy that hard work because it annoys you that your club will take time and may not have the owners who know how to do it.
This is all about you. This has nothing to do with the good of anything.
Oh and don’t give us the ‘The big 6 get away with it #corrupt’ rubbish. City are under investigation for 115 charges and they will get punished. Chelsea need to sell to buy now. Arsenal can’t afford to buy a CF. Spurs have to maintain low wages, Liverpool sold well to fund their best players, Man Utd are a mess and can’t spend right now.
The latest rubbish coming out is that ‘The Premier League can’t afford the best players’. What absolute tosh. West Ham can spend more than Inter Milan, Juventus, AC Milan, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. The Premier League is far richer than every other top 5 league combined.
This is all about you and no one else.
You are nothing, you are a fool, you are a waste of time. Good night
