We are seeing some pretty interesting visual observations from our barley trials this year. Here you see standability differences between our standard nitrogen VR Nitrogen rate as compared to Enhanced. Also seeing vivid standability differences this year on our seeding rate trials. The final yield and economic analysis will cap this year of learning off! #alwayslearning @mtjapp @SaskBarley

Joe has been fabulous to work with. He is very much a team player and his thoughts around Leadership learned through his time in the Military give him a very unique perspective in this space that sets him apart. Looking forward to many more years of collaboration with Joe and witnessing the large impact that he has with his clients. Please check out his recent podcast with Tracy Brunet to catch a glimpse of what I’m talking about! youtu.be/n697f3xR-9M

We’ve got a real problem on our hands this year. Seems that more and more lentil buyers are limiting the use of Carbine on red lentils. Based on the limited efficacy of lambda that we’ve seen the last few years, I expect this to cost the pulse industry tens of millions of dollars this year as high aphid pressures have arrived much earlier than typical. Carbine is a great solution agronomically as it has strong action on pests such as aphids, but will not harm any beneficials. Are the buyers being overly cautious with this active? Would love to hear some inside opinions as our hands are being tied quite heavily in the field.

This is a saline area, and it’s still not perfect. It has heavy kochia pressure (spray worked great!), it is still a bit patchy, as you can see to the right, we still have water issues. But we’ve made big improvements with no secret sauce, just solid agronomy over the last 7 yrs.

I had Deja Vu, this is the exact field where I posted this in 2023. Pretty awesome to see the change.

Never seizes to amaze me when I cross the Alberta border and the pulses switch from lentils to peas. Apparently Alberta can’t grow lentils 🤷.

Any Swat Maps customers want a pair of SwatCams? Couple years old, cameras are kept inside for the winter. Give me half price of new and they're yours.

It might seem like simple math, but I also see that it’s being overlooked. If your standard is to seed canola at 1 lb below the TSW, then be aware that 4g being seeded at 3 lbs/acre is equivalent seeds per acre to a 5.5g seed being seeded at 4.1 lbs/acre. #math

@MikePalmier presenting the MNP Agronomy Benchmarks. Nice comparison. Great info. Thanks again Mike.

It has been interesting being exposed to more farms over the last 18 months in a number of geographies. Fertility plans vary widely, and in many cases indicate a much higher nitrogen usage per bushel # than we typically see through our analytics. producer.com/crops/4r-nutrie…
