What does special rapporteur actually mean? A special apologist? A spinner of fantasy ?

Francesca Albanese is an unhinged conspiracy theorist consumed by her obsessive hatred of Israel.
Her vile lies and grotesque accusations are a disgrace to the @UN.
@FranceskAlbs must go.

As official Ireland fawned over Ms Albanese, the JCRI posses this question:
'We ask members of the Oireachtas and the national broadcaster a simple question: Why is Francesca Albanese's voice treated with such unquestioning respect, despite her track record?'
A United Nations title should not place anyone above scrutiny. Yet that is precisely what appears to have happened during Francesca Albanese's visit to Ireland.
Despite international condemnation, calls for resignation from European governments and demands for a UN investigation, Albanese was welcomed by Irish political representatives without question.
She dismissed documented antisemitism against Irish Jews on national radio, then appeared before an Oireachtas committee making a series of outrageous, unsubstantiated allegations.
Not one demand for evidence. Not one challenge to her most shocking claims.
Instead, she got praise, admiration and smiling photographs.
Since when did an Oireachtas committee become a place where extraordinary allegations are applauded rather than examined?
Our elected representatives have a duty to exercise independent judgement, ask difficult questions and demand evidence for serious allegations. That responsibility should never be set aside, regardless of who is speaking.
JRCI's full statement is attached.

The United Nations should take full responsibility for appointing and re-appointing the “special” rapporteur Francesca Albanese, as the “UN expert on the Palestinian Territories.”
She is barking insane and yet it’s another stain of incompetence on the part of the UN.
Francesca Albanese: “Israel has always killed children... torture, even rape... raped by dogs trained in European countries. European people are profiting from selling dogs that will rape people.”
Irish Senator Chris Andrews: “Thank you for your ongoing advocacy. It's inspiring.”
I am lucky to have acquired a nice set of this history some years ago at the Trinity College Booksale. It’s a nice antidote to the usual Whig version of English history and was used in most Catholic public schools in England until recent times.

Presumably Albanese tailors her speeches to her audience. When talking to journalists who might offer pushback, for example, she sticks to general slurs. But when she knows that her audience are particularly dumb or partisan, as in Ireland, she can spread vile, outrageous lies.
Like lets look at facts here - @grok, Francesca Albanese claimed in Dublin on 4th Nov that European countries are training dogs to rape Palestinian prisoners and then selling them to Israel. Where is the evidence for this?

Indeed. FF/FG/SF have lost the plot and left the country down. At a time when Ireland holds the EU Presidency the Government have embarrassed the country by inviting and listening uncritically to this woman.
The fact that Francesca Albanese, who has been roundly condemned for antisemitism, has found a receptive audience among some Irish politicians should be a gigantic wakeup call for all decent people concerned about Official Ireland's current political trajectory and its attitude toward Jewish peoplehood
We cannot — we must not — let this stand

She's gone full Jew hate now. Full conspiracy theory nonsense. Just one step away from Zionist Space Lazers.

Irish foreign minister pays tribute to Hamas’ de facto spokesperson. Shame on Ireland.
Important meeting today with UN Special Rapporteur @FranceskAlbs. Ireland will not forget about Palestine and will continue to stand up for the UN, its representatives, and international law.
Well said. I’m afraid that FG has totally lost the plot.
The welcome, uncritical, reception given by official Ireland to Francesca Alabanese & the platforming of narratives she promotes that are widely condemned outside Ireland, as is her violation of the Code of Practice applicable to UN Special Rapporteurs which requires impartiality & objectivity when exercising such UN remit, resonates with the distorted, prejudiced, hate fuelled, fact free narratives currently contaminating Irish politics, broadcasting & too many throughout different areas of Irish society. It is no surprise that an Oireachtas committee embraced her narratives & failed to ask a single critical question or to question the absurdity of some of her assertions.

It must be said, Israel is not very good at this Apartheid business.
Israel’s Arab-led parties won 19 Knesset seats.
Today all of them backed Gadi Eisenkot to form the next government, giving him 67 endorsements to Netanyahu’s 46.
Arab voters and lawmakers are playing a big role in shaping Israeli society.
Remember these facts the next time someone tries to hit you with the apartheid libel. It’s simply not true.

.@antonioguterres You allowed this barking mad lunatic and her friends to bring the United Nations into disrepute, and this shall be marked in the history books as your legacy.

Can Helen McEntee please go and join the Social Democrats? They would suit her much better.
