It's one year since the Govt adopted my Bill to protect the title 'nurse', after years of campaigning with @protectnurse.
I'm committed to ensuring these vital protections are implemented without delay.

I welcome the news that the protection of the nurse title will be further strengthened in law. The trust people place in registered nurses is based on our rigorous training and education which gives us the skills and knowledge to deliver high quality, safe and personalised care.
🌟 NEW: We're making it a criminal offence for people who are not qualified as a nurse to use the title and mislead the public.
By protecting the title ‘nurse’ in law, we will help protect both patients and staff across the NHS.

🚨 We did it — we’re changing the law!
So happy to say, on #InternationalNursesDay, that the Labour Government is adopting my Bill to legally protect the job title ‘Nurse’. 🥳

It was a big day last week presenting my Ten Minute Rule Bill to #ProtectNurse. 💙
I was shocked that anyone can call themselves a nurse! So, my Bill would prevent misuse of the title - enhancing patient safety & ensuring respect for registered nurses.
