Harvest is underway, and farmers are buying fertilizer to put on their fields after harvest. Phosphorus and potassium are higher than they were a year ago. Farmers who contract to buy anhydrous ammonia to apply in the spring are finding prices 20% higher than they were a year ago. Not to mention that they’ll be paying 70% more than last year for the diesel needed to apply the fertilizer. For many farmers, it is a bitter harvest. Fuel and fertilizer costs eating their profits. Trade policies that are driving up the cost of machinery. Foreign markets gone dry thanks to needless trade wars. A Congress that went home to campaign without passing a farm bill. Little wonder the rising discontent in America’s heartland. Little wonder the rising anger in rural America about the way rural Americans have been treated by the political class in Washington. They should not be surprised when rural America expresses its discontent at the ballot box. We are the Rural Independence Initiative. We need serious financial repression and wealth taxes because these billionaires simply stole their money. It’s not their property, it’s theft.
Coreweave CEO Michael Intrator says the market is acting irrationally by selling his stock. A run through SEC filings reveals Michael Intrator has been “acting irrationally” as well, selling $907 million worth of $CRWV shares this year alone. His cofounders Brian Venturo and Brannin Mcbee have also been acting irrationally. The trio has sold a combined $3.3 billion of stock since the IPO. Venturo is the second biggest insider seller of any American company this year. Their benefactors at Magnetar Capital have also been acting irrationally. They have sold more than $5.5 Billion of Coreweave stock since the IPO. A lot of people seem to be acting very irrationally.

The cows and the sows could buy a farm and support a family when I was young. Rural America was a better place then….
Dairy was the young man’s access to the ladder of success. It is now the least accessible route to wealth generation for the young man. The problems with agriculture today are that men of incredible passion built what men of incredible greed corrupted.

Diesel hit six dollars and thirty cents a gallon last week. That's more than 70 percent higher than a year ago, and it landed right in the middle of harvest. So what's Washington's answer? A deal to buy diesel from Russia. The first shipment is 300,000 tons—if it even gets here. That’s a little more than half what America consumes in a single day. The entire deal with Russia through the end of the year is less than what America consumes in 4-8 days. Even if Russia delivers everything it has promised, the amount represents only a fraction of America's annual diesel consumption—and analysts doubt it will substantially lower prices. This is on top of the hoopla about allowing truckers to use red-dyed diesel. What does that do to help farmers? Zero. Nada. Zilch. Farmers already run dyed diesel in their tractors and combines. All it does is force farmers to compete with truckers for the same supply of red-dyed diesel. The trouble with the grand press conference and window dressing coming out of Washington? Farmers know they are being conned every time they pay the diesel fuel bill. We are the Rural Independence Initiative. "My name is Chaz Self, and I just filed a temporary restraining order against the state of Wisconsin. When my wife and I took over Grassway in 2016, the farm we now call home, we had one dream to feed our community. Becoming a first-generation farmer, I believed in the dairy state was possible. 10 years later, DatCap and the Secretary Randy Romanski are trying to bankrupt us, and the question is why. " Yet another example of government overreach, trying to destroy another farm and family.

Project 2025 specifically called for all military leaders O-6 and above to pledge loyalty to the Unitary Executive. I wish there was more reporting on how Project 2025 is a playbook for fascism and how it's currently being executed by Vought and Wiles.

Wish the world wasn’t driven by greed and chasing diminishing marginal productivity. Farming this way and feeding your community/family sounds a lot more fun than feeding the world. And yes this is coming from an “influencer” who has had the opportunity to run season long demos of brand new equipment, and rents ground 100 miles from home. I can understand the hamster wheel is severely broken, while still being stuck on said hamster wheel.

.@Chuckgrassley Chuck Grassley is WRONG. Our new report shows how Iowa’s Medicaid Fund will be $12.8 billion lower by 2034. The infusion of $209 million in rural healthcare grant still leaves a 16.05% reduction from the modeled baseline. This isn’t transformative - this is catastrophic for rural Iowa. Read the report here: farmactionfund.us/wp-content…

In a controversial role of calling balls and strikes, you make the call. U of Maryland Mid Atlantic Meat Conference will have Farm Babe as the keynote speaker. Tell me you don’t understand local and regional meat? She blocked me over arguing against industrial ag.

Gen X, we are not the passed over or forgotten generation. For a long time I thought this way, and clouded my judgment on things. But now I see we have a very important assignment. We are to be the enduring, resetting generation. We endured watered down, pottery barn churches that built pastoral brands and not the kingdom of God, so we reset by making that old time religion great again. We endured being latch key kids, so we now reset by being there for our kids. We endured mass divorce, so we now reset by finishing the race with the wife of our youth. We endured being the first porn is mainstream generation on video snd computers, so we reset by making it as difficult as possible to obtain it in the future and making monogamy and the nuclear family hot again. We endured being passed on mountains of debt that can never be repaid well into our prime earning years, so we reset by making sure we leave our kids an inheritance. If possible, we give it to them early when they need our help. And they’re gonna need more help with the down payment on their first house at 25 or 30 than a bunch of money at 50 when we die. We endured grandparents that posted more Facebook vacation than pics of their grandkids, so we reset by taking some vacations (we worked hard too) in retirement but prioritizing being there for our adult kids and our grandkids. And because we want to be. Grandkids are the ultimate inheritance of a life well lived. Work as hard at being there for them that love us as we did being there for a boss who didn’t. And if we endure and reset in this way as much as possible, we will have won our millennial children and Gen Z grandchildren the opportunity to truly make America great again.
