Jacob is correct here—we really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans! I personally think it is >10% within the next decade. I believe Anthropic is trying its best, but we do not yet have a plan to solve alignment for superintelligence and are not clearly on track to.
Replying to @hilbertspaess
The people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a marketing stunt. If anything, many executives and senior researchers will couch their phrasing in the press to sound sensible - but I hear the same people express fear privately. No other human activity poses this level of danger.

Went old school in my Humans & Nature class @RooseveltU with a real chestnut: Blue Book exam, sans notes or books or devices. Felt refreshing. Students really cranked into it, or so it seemed. ⁦@SUSTatRU⁩ #BlueBookingIt

#GreenNewDeal for Chicago: no better time, no better place for #UrbanSustainability innovation and #EnvironmentalJustice #SUST340Policy #SUST310Energy
We must act boldly and quickly to move Chicago away from our reliance on fossil fuels, and ensure that everyone has access to clean energy alternatives. A #GreenNewDeal for Chicago means that we leave no one behind in the transition to a clean energy future.
