On this day 48 years ago in 1977 Lynyrd Skynyrd's plane ran out of fuel and crashed near Gillsburg, Mississippi.
Six passengers died, including the band's lead singer Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines and backing vocalist Cassie Gaines.
A tragedy that shook the music world.
Never forgotten.
