On a personal note, I met #Ditka at his steakhouse one New Year's Eve and he was very kind and gracious. The biggest "what if" in modern American political history is if he had run for US Senate against Barack Obama. I truly believe #DaCoach would've been Da Senator.

Ditka was a disaster as @Saints head coach for the Saints but he made things interesting. There was no shortage of culprits for the post-1992 Saints decade of disaster but Ditka was the conductor. Da Coach was like a train derailment - very destructive but no less fascinating.

We shouldn't livestream executions for many ressons. Nothing good will come of it. It's appropriate to invite the family of the victims to witness but it shouldn't be a public spectacle. The public only needs to know that the sentence was carried out to the last full measure

I've got thoughts on the upcoming election. I won't share them now but I will say that if things play out badly for the @GOP , it will not just be about "it's the inflation, stupid!" but something more endemic that has been a far bigger and long-term problem than any individual.
