Bingo.
This video is currently all over social media. Many are expressing sorrow for this woman and sadness at her outrage. My take on it is different. The look you see on her face is not outrage…it’s realisation. It is the look of a white, liberal lefty woman suddenly realising that her entire worldview is/was totally wrong. That what she had spent her life arrogantly portraying as her higher morality and understanding was in fact “suicidal empathy” as described by @GadSaad and that empathy was going to destroy her entire society.

American an European friends, I’m so ashamed, but you need to see what France has become. Don’t make the same mistakes we did. The only peaceful solution is to send them back to their countries of origin they love so much. We cannot coexist. It will be them, or us.

Ursula von der Leyen announced this week that everyone in the EU must use the official EU age verification app to verify their age before they can log into or post on social media and other digital services. As an expert in online child safety, I'm here to expose the disinformation in each von der Leyen's statements. See below. 🇪🇺 The EU Kids Act is a pretext designed to enforce mandatory digital identity verification on everyone in Europe. The proposed legislation applies to any digital service featuring feeds, user generated content, or messaging: Social media networks, video platforms, online gaming services, AI tools, and media streaming apps like Spotify. (@TimSweeneyEpic) Under the proposal, digital services must enforce age restrictions across strict tiers. Tech companies must mandate age verification across all accounts to enforce these tiers legally. When Australia introduced its social media ban, the government conceded it failed because platform level age checks weren’t reliable. They now reject age estimation as inadequate and shifted to demanding "robust" age checking. 💡 If you eliminate every unproven estimation method, you’re left with exactly 1 functional mechanism: identity verification. There's not other way to ensure age checking is "robust". No government wants to admit citizens must prove their real identity just to access apps and basic streaming services like Spotify, so they hide behind the ambiguous phrase "robust age checking". This language is now used across Australia, the US, and Ireland to mandate identity checks while avoiding the public backlash of calling it what it is. I will research to see where else it’s being used. Below is what Ursula von der Leyen told the European Parliament in Strasbourg along with my analsyis: 🇪🇺 "Today, much of this power has been taken out of the hands of parents... What our children need is time... But when a child has a smartphone, all of this is taken away." 💡 This framing falsely presents smartphones as uncontrollable. Apple and Google built free OS controls into iOS and Android settings, covering virtually every smartphone on the market. These controls achieve every legitimate safety objective without collecting personal data or processing state credentials. 💡 Millions of parents use these parental controls to enforce screen time curfews, block app installations, and restrict communication. 💡 These settings operate at the device level. Teens can't bypass them when protected with a passcode. To bypass this technical reality, the European Commission uses public grief to shut down logical analysis: 🇪🇺 "Day and night, parents see the costs, loss of sleep, anxiety, even self-harm, and in a growing number of cases, even fatal tragedies… a 14-year-old girl living in Belgium who took her life exactly one month ago, victim of bullying online... Honourable members, enough is enough." 💡 Citing personal tragedies replaces software engineering facts with emotional rhetoric. State laws and age gates don’t alter human behaviour or prevent online harassment. Regulators exploit grief to pass surveillance legislation without explaining how the underlying software mechanisms operate. The Commission outlines specific age tiers to restrict access: 🇪🇺 "In sum, no social media under the age of 13. No personal account under the age of 15. That means from 13 to under 15, only mini accounts set up and supervised by parents or guardians with limited features and time restriction to one hour a day. And between 15 and 18, safe design will be an obligation for the platforms." 💡 Enforcing age tiers forces tech companies and service providers to rebuild their architecture around total access control. The must disable self-service account creation, purge unverified accounts, build supervised parental workflows, strip algorithmic feeds, and enforce strict session cutoffs. 💡 Social networks operate on open interaction algorithms that inherently expose people to unvetted content. Because software can’t dynamically filter these risks for minors, tech companies must block access for everyone until a person proves their real identity. 💡 It’s not just about social networks. They want the same bans for almost everything, including games and stream services. Even Spotify because it’s possible for customers to message people. The Commission claims its proposed zero knowledge proof app protects personal privacy: 🇪🇺 "Age will be verified using EU certified tools like our age verification app. This app is built on zero knowledge proof. That means that the platform only learns one single thing, and that's whether you're old enough to allow access or not." 💡 This framing describes what an app or service receives while hiding what everyone must give up. A zero knowledge proof provides a mathematical confirmation, but that confirmation requires an authoritative issuer. Before the app generates a proof, a state approved entity must verify the person's real identity. The Commission frames this shift as a victory against tech corporations: 🇪🇺 "I am aware that many perceive the power of Big Tech as overwhelming and impossible to roll back. I disagree... So we do not accept this. We are reversing the burden of proof. Now platforms will have to prove to us that they are safe. Because this is not about our minors accessing social media. It is about when and how we allow social media to access our minors." 💡 Social networks don’t access children; parents hand smartphones to children. Reversing the burden of proof forces everyone to verify their identity. The European Commission confirmed the broader scope of this mandate: 🇪🇺 "We also know that not only minors are at risk. Addictive design, for example, are harming everyone. This is why we need a wider framework too, the Digital Fairness Act that we will propose in autumn." 🚨 Child safety is merely the initial wedge. The Digital Fairness Act expands state mandated identity verification to adults across all online services. Binding real identities to online activity permanently eliminates pseudonymous access, private communication, and democratic accountability. 🚨 Senior state officials and regulators know their demands have nothing to do with child safety. They work closely with tech companies and understand that iOS and Android already provide complete authority to restrict devices locally without collecting personal data. State officials deliberately ignore well established parental controls because they keep internet access under family control. Child safety is a public pretext. 🚨 Governments and regulators use child safety to establish mandatory identity verification across every app and digital service, eliminating online anonymity. When tech companies and state agencies link every social media post, private message, search term, geographic location, and financial transaction to a verified identity, they create a permanent digital dossier on every citizen with a global social graph that makes Cambridge Analytica look like a 2nd grade school science project. 💡 Binding people’s identity to daily activity enables predictive behavioural modelling too. By feeding identity data into automated predictive AI, governments, intelligence agencies, law enforcement, and tech companies move beyond surveillance past behaviour. They can map political affiliations, predict individual actions, flag dissent before it occurs, and control public opinion at scale. Eliminating online anonymity ends free speech, private communication, and democratic accountability. As Larry Ellison stated at Oracle’s Financial Analyst Meeting in 2024: "Citizens will be on their best behaviour, because we’re constantly recording and reporting everything that’s going on". 🙏🏻 Share this to expose how governments use child safety as a false pretext to force mandatory digital identity verification on everyone. paulfwalsh.substack.com/p/th…
Every day our children are engaging with some of the most sophisticated technology ever created. Technology that was not created with their wellbeing in mind. We need to set clear boundaries in the digital world. This is what our KIDS Act will do ↓ xitter.cf/i/broadcasts/1RJZzBnnb…

So I finally watched the majority of the interview between @zannymb and @elonmusk and here are just a few observations I have from that interview if anybody cares: 1. @zannymb, I say this with whatever respect is necessary, you’re absolutely delusional. I live in the UK. And to hear your comments denying the crime and corruption and the no-go areas and the two tier system employed by the police, government and media is astounding. Sex crimes and sexual violence and rape are far higher in the UK than the US. The real question is how you even try to play this down? 2. Far right is a misnomer. Sure there is a far right. Every country has a far right just as they have a far left. But the difference comes in that you and many other leftists label anyone and everyone who isn’t a hardcore socialist or liberal leftist as far right. In exactly the same way as you all falsely label what’s happened in Gaza as a genocide. The left exists on meaningless slogans. Zero critical thinking and this weird bubble of denial. The vast majority of British white people are simply British and white, not far right. We care for the country and don’t allow government and media to impose their views on what is so clearly visible and obvious to normal people. And I’m not British born. I see what’s happening objectively. Many British people look at me as a Jew. So what? But someone like Tommy Robinson isn’t trying to murder me or rape my daughter. Someone like Mohammed Hijab is. And yet you see Tommy as far right and Mohammed as the poor oppressed victim. It is so backwards and insane that it’s laughable. 3. As a very well educated and well read Jewish Israeli living in the UK, and as a British citizen, I see how the media lie. The media have been caught out lying so many times. Jeremy Bowens of the BBC completely making up the story of the hospital bombing in Gaza and then refusing to apologize for it. The BBC paying children of Hamas for a documentary that was so dishonest. The Guardian constantly lying. Hell, I struggle to remember when the media in the UK ever report the truth. The way the BBC edited footage of Trump on January 6. And then you dare to question Elon on influencing people against Europe? 4. Look at the protests in the UK. When Islamists and leftists marched in the hundreds of thousands weekly, there were constant calls for the genocide of Jews. That incitement led to the stabbing and shooting and cold blooded murder of British Jews. Yet you said nothing. Contrast that with the freedom marches by those you call “far right”? British flags, families, calm, peaceful. And you all had to invent tension and stories to make out as if it were some Nazi rally. It’s that invention of lies that makes the media despicable. And I’m focused on you and the media here. Elon and others have their share of promoting and amplifying conspiracy theories and bullshit at times but on the topics discussed he was absolutely right. And to hear how easy it was for you, like second nature, to lie and gaslight and pretend it’s just simple ignorance was mind blowing. You’re part of the problem, Zanny. Deny it all you wish, but your gaslighting and logical fallacies won’t work on me because I live in the UK and see it with my own eyes. My children are afraid in the UK. Do you care? Of course not. To you they’re just Jews. There is no evenhandedness with you. You take no responsibility or accountability. You simply point fingers to hide the truth of everything that’s wrong about the UK, Europe and the West. That makes you complicit, fully. There are problems. Many of them. And at least Elon is trying to point many out and correct them. But you can’t fix something when all you do is deny it and blame somebody else for it. Elon may be famous, but he influences far fewer people than you give him credit for. Most of the time he simply shares other people’s opinions and views, rightly or wrongly. I’m not afraid to criticize him. But what you do is just evil.

Sen. Tim Sheehy (R-MT) delivers an incredibly powerful speech about Iran. Watch every second of this. "Yesterday we saw the president of the United States and many others at Dover Air Force Base presiding over a ceremony that is very sacred to those of us who served, and that is a dignified return of remains from the war zone. That process happens beginning in the war zone through Dover to the hometown of our fallen heroes. I participated in many of those ceremonies myself to include carrying friends of mine off the plane. One of those is on this bracelet. He was cut in half by an Iranian EFP. This regime that we are fighting does not care about our partisan politics. They don't care who you voted for, who you pray to, or where you live. They want to kill all of us. And they don't just say it, they actually do it, and they've been doing it for forty-seven years. This is a war of choice. The Democrats are correct. It's a war of choice that was begun by a radical lunatic band of terrorists that took over a beautiful nation 47 years ago, took it over with brutality, force, and savagery. And the second they took it over, they didn't free their people, they didn't unleash the largest oil reserves in the world to build schools and bridges. They took it over to murder their own people and to spread their disgusting ideology across the world, and that is exactly what they have been doing. They don't just say it and talk about it. You don't have to believe what they say. You can simply watch what they've done. They have attacked families, women, children, innocent people. They don't just attack them and kill them, they rape them. They skin them alive on camera. They celebrate it. They honor those people who do disgusting things that we would put in jail for the rest of their lives in this country, and they do it for fun, and they pay them money to do it, and they're heroes to that nation. They've done it to friends of mine. They've done it to families who've been in this chamber. And the fact that we sit here and listen to elected officials of this country defend these lunatics who want us all dead. They want all of you dead. They want all of us dead. They don't want us to disappear with a snap of a finger. They want us to be raped, burned alive, and cut into pieces. Watch the video from October 7. That's what they want to happen from Maine to San Diego, from Seattle to Miami. They want this country turned into a burning husk of its former self, and you don't have to theorize that. That's what they do. From the 1983 barracks bombing, where 280 Marines were vaporized in a morning, from USS Cole to the Achille Lauro, to every terrorist attack, from the Houthis, Hezbollah, Hamas. These are not humanitarian freedom organizations. They are death-dealing cults, and they want all of us to die brutal deaths. William Buckley was abducted in 1985, an American military officer. He was skinned alive on camera by the Iranians. American prisoners of war who were captured. They were never called prisoners of war because they were captured by lunatic terrorists, so they were not subject to the Geneva Convention. They were captured and murdered, power drills through their brains. This is in Iraq. These are families that have dealt with this, and they've never gotten a single dime. These families have never gotten restitution, and not a single president has ever stood up to them. Love Donald Trump or hate him, love his policies, hate ICE, love ICE, whatever. There's never been a single president who has stood up to Iran and hit back. For 47 years, our troops and our families have been absorbing attack after attack after attack all over the world. And their radical ideology does not stop at the Persian Gulf. It doesn't stop at Tel Aviv. They want to do this everywhere. It's a global radical ideology, and we've been fighting it for half a century. We didn't start this war. We did not, but we will finish it. And forever wars are not popular with anybody these days. Both sides of the love to attack our forever wars. And I can promise you, being someone overseas wearing the uniform, when you're fighting for your country, you don't care what party's in office, but you're fighting to defend your country, and you turn on the news and see your elected officials stabbing you in the back, telling you that you're failing, that you've failed every goal of the war, is what I just heard. Last time I checked, we've wiped these bastards out. An occasional missile strike and boats in the straits, that's not military strength. Those are the flailings of a failing empire. Those are the flailings of a nation in collapse because they deserve it. So I encourage our colleagues on both sides of the aisle, whatever's politically convenient, whatever plays well on Twitter or Facebook, think about the people who are deployed right now, standing on that wall with a loaded weapon, who have volunteered to defend our country and our way of life. Because they are there defending us in a just war, because we did not start a war with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. They started it with us 47 years ago, and their attacks have gone unanswered for half a century. It's time to fix this problem and make sure another generations of Americans does not have to fight this murderous, savage adversary."

Bravo! I cancelled my @TheEconomist subscription earlier this year, after many decades. The core reason: They've been (smugly) wrong about almost everything. Not quite the parody anti-barometer akin to Time or Forbes; but just as egregious. A shame. I hope it finds its way again, to its legacy standing as a worthy newspaper.

⚡️The U.S. no longer has to compare itself to Europe as a whole to show divergence. Individual American mega-states are starting to look like peer competitors to major European nations. That is a huge tell. The hidden variable is operating leverage. Texas sits inside the American platform: dollar system, U.S. capital markets, U.S. military umbrella, U.S. tech ecosystem, U.S. legal and corporate infrastructure, massive domestic consumer base, and free internal migration. France carries sovereign responsibilities Texas does not carry. Texas does not have to run an independent currency, nuclear deterrent, national pension architecture, foreign policy, or full welfare-state balance sheet on its own. So the comparison flatters Texas and slightly cheats. But it still reveals something brutal: the most dynamic U.S. regions now compound faster than legacy European nation-states because they combine American-scale capital access with state-level policy flexibility. Texas is not merely a place. It is a growth machine. Energy is the core. Cheap and abundant power sits underneath everything: AI data centers, petrochemicals, LNG, manufacturing, grid expansion, Bitcoin mining, defense industry, industrial reshoring, and population growth. Europe spent years moralizing energy policy while Texas kept treating energy as civilization’s base layer. That difference compounds. The next geopolitical split is not simply America versus Europe. It is high-energy, high-capex, high-migration growth zones versus low-energy, high-regulation preservation zones. Texas is one of the clearest examples of the first category. France is one of the clearest examples of the second. Europe still has culture, beauty, history, education, engineering depth, and institutional memory. But growth power is moving toward places that can build, power, permit, finance, and absorb people faster. Civilization is becoming more infrastructure-bound again. Energy, land, grid, ports, chips, compute, and capital velocity matter more than postwar prestige. Final read: this chart is not just bragging about Texas. It is a map of the new world. The future is flowing toward jurisdictions that can turn energy into capital formation without suffocating the process. France represents inherited civilization. Texas represents compounding civilization. Right now, compounding is winning.

Deutschland ist geil. Man muss das endlich einmal positiv sehen: Die Industrieproduktion sinkt. Und zwar nicht irgendwie, sondern mit Haltung. Während andere Länder noch rückständig produzieren, exportieren, Maschinen bauen, Chemie herstellen, Stahl kochen und Wohlstand erwirtschaften, geht Deutschland mutig voran: Wir bauen ab. Nicht chaotisch. Nicht zufällig. Sondern wertebasiert. Jedenfalls in Talkshows. Also lieber Lehm. Regional. Nachhaltig.
