We believe that education and dialogue are essential tools in the fight against polarization. But for those tools to be effective, they need the right space. X increasingly works against—not with—the kind of reflection, nuance, and public trust that MM stands for. (6/7)

🌱 If we want a sustainable future, we must center women’s voices in climate solutions.
"People don’t understand the links between climate change and displacement. Most of the time, displacement is only seen as a political issue, but climate change, as we can see, affects women more directly, because they have to trek kilometers looking for water and for firewood." — Dr. Priscilla Achapka, Founder and Global Lead, Women Environmental Programme (WEP) voices on the move podcast (episode 7)

🌱 Indigenous communities share a deep connection with their land; one tied to history, identity, and survival. But climate change is altering everything. And there are no frameworks to protect what’s being lost.
"Much of the effort, over the last number of years, towards restoring Indigenous peoples' relationship to the land is producing a condition where Indigenous peoples are trying to reclaim a relationship that doesn't exist any longer, because the land is not what it used to be..." — Dr. Will Greaves, Associate Professor of International Relations at the University of Victoria voices on the move podcast (episode 6)

🌎 At what point do people decide they can no longer stay in their homes? Ep 4 of Voices on the Move explores 'tipping points'—the critical points where migration becomes necessary. What drives these decisions? Let’s dive in! ⬇️
The point at which people feel they must migrate because they can no longer sustain their livelihoods. This could be due to failing crops, lack of water, or other challenges; but it’s also shaped by personal perceptions and experiences. ‘Tipping point’:

"Human mobility should be a cornerstone of development policy," says Dr. Ricardo Safra de Campos. Policies should recognize that migration is part of life; neither 'good' nor 'bad.' It’s about adapting and supporting livelihoods across multiple places.
