I posted my first montage 2 months ago. I had this weird concept of showing stories and emotions through video game montages. Since then I’ve made close friends and found a community I can now call home. This video is very important to me. I chose to use the song “Alternative” by @its_R_O_R_Y as she is my favorite artist and the song means a lot to me. I originally got “good” at video games because I was alone, I thought if I was good enough I could make friends and I would see value in myself (I am getting better slowly I promise). This causes me to wonder in a different life would I have invested so much time into video games, who I would know, whether I would have joined the games industry or even met my fiancé. I hope the montage tells that story. Additionally her podcast gave me the confidence to post my first montage, her motto “put on the costume, fake it until you make it” is what inspired me to act like these amazing aimers and montage makers I see on my timeline. Without this there probably wouldn’t have ever been a “Midwest”. On Sunday night at a listening party for her upcoming album she signed the thumbnail from that montage that means so much to me. This will be proudly hung on my wall for the rest of my life. My next montage is around 60-70% done and I can’t wait to share it with you all.
