The maxi argument is about the difference between a permissioned and permissionless blockchain.
Permissioned blockchain = fancy database
Permissionless blockhain = has one valid world use case = money
That is what makes Bitcoin revolutionary.
One of the core arguments of Bitcoin Maximalism is that blockchains are fundamentally inefficient for usecases outside of money—and that money is the only usecase that truly requires blockchain-level decentralization to actualize it "soundness."
