I've always advocated for cross promotion, but as I've always said- there's virtually NO CHANCE IN HELL that WWE would ever play nice in the proverbial sandbox with a company they're in direct competitiom with.
Swerve's take makes complete sense as to a few of the reasons why.
Swerve Strickland was asked if he thinks there will ever be a WWE and AEW cross-promotion event:
“No. Not in my lifetime at least.
It’s control. It’s all about marketing. It’s like the NFL, WWE has to protect their shield. There’s no way they’d allow any of our wrestlers to look better and be better [than them].
Obi Femi is a world beater. You gotta protect that and make sure he keeps looking good. Gunther, have to protect that. Roman [Reigns], have to protect that. Cody [Rhodes], have to protect, even more so because of AEW. There’s a lot of that happening.
When it gets to the women, then that’s even tougher. Rhea [Ripley], Liv [Morgan], Chelsea [Green] all have to be protected. You wanna see Seth [Rollins] and Ospreay. That’s the generational thing, but who do you protect? Who has the leverage? Us in the locker room, we just wanna have these matches. I’m good friends with Carmelo [Hayes], Jevon [Evans] and Oba. Those are my boys. I love those guys. I don’t care who wins. Double DQs. I don’t care.”

🚨 Further testing has reportedly been ordered as part of the investigation into PAC’s death following his autopsy.
Dave Meltzer explained on Wrestling Observer that additional studies can suggest that the cause of death was not considered natural, while emphasizing that the information came from someone without specific knowledge of the Satterley case:
"According to someone who works closely with the office, but does not have knowledge of the Satterley case in specific, when they order additional studies following the autopsy it is usually not what they believe to be a natural death, such as a stroke, heart attack/damage, aneurysm, etc. Those would be apparent upon the initial autopsy and they will normally make their ruling upon this and go from there."
