The goalkeeper was sent off after his knee struck De Miguel in the chest while attempting to clear the ball.
Owono has maintained that there was no intention to cause harm and is understood to be deeply affected by the incident.
Footage has also emerged showing the goalkeeper confronting supporters who were chanting โmurdererโ at him as he left the pitch.
According to Spanish media, Owono could instead face a sporting suspension of between 8 and 12 matches.
He has also closed his Instagram account following widespread abuse and intends to contact De Miguelโs family privately.
