Same customer, same compost — different day.
Galen Tuggy from Hillside Gardens Ltd in Holland Marsh (Bradford, ON) did his first microbiometer test on my Johnson-Su compost and said:
“Nice score!”
Then he actually handled it while prepping an extract and sent this:
“I just sorted out some compost to use in an extract tomorrow.
But wow! Handling the stuff was an experience!
I’ve never handled any soil with texture like that stuff!
The way it held together, held moisture, was so full of life — so dark and full of carbon. It was amazing!
A sponge made out of soil.”
That’s real-world feedback from someone who knows good compost when he feels it.
For reference, the test showed:
Microbial biomass: 4,079 µg/g
Fungal %: 63%
Fungal-to-bacterial ratio: 1.7 : 1
C:N ratio: 9 : 1

Dimitris Mameletzis is a physics educator and olive grower at Ελαιώνες Μαμελετζή (Mameletzis Olive Groves) in Greece. Dimitris’ project, Terra Vitalis, focuses on transitioning conventional olive groves into self-sustaining, regenerative ecosystems.
