Beta-carotene isn't just "vitamin A waiting to happen". BUT that's the main pathway. Your body splits it into retinaldehyde, then retinol or retinoic acid (Retin-A)... and a little of that becomes 13-cis-retinoic acid. Better known as... ACCUTANE.

1. Here's a label for proof. Not hating on the company disclosing it, because at least they're open label. I need to reach out to them soon Note that this is a big scoop product (30g total), so it's gonna need more color than most others. AND they had to add annatto on top of that 2. Attached is one supplier's sheet for some color options. But 0.01% beta carotene for a 10g scoop is just 1mg... so it seems like you need more than this spec sheet indicates

In 2008, I put this on my new website: "DO NOT TAKE BETA-CAROTENE IF YOU ARE A SMOKER!" Then I filed it away and moved on. That warning was the tip of a much bigger story: trials stopped early, a dose picked so people wouldn't turn orange, and a WHO "acceptable" intake built on rats. Episode 1 of the Beta-Carotene Case Files is live!

Beta-carotene was given to people in hopes of preventing cancer... but the research didn't turn out so well, to put it nicely. Yet it's STILL mega-dosed as a colorant. So we're taking this to the @US_FDA. Stay tuned, as the story unfolds

"Oh, you have a problem? You must be deficient in something!" Yeah? What if it's the opposite?
