Hi kids, don't try your hardest to learn...Lucy said it doesn't matter....From the same party that wants Primary staff to label 7 year olds unemployable 👍
I think education should be about what you can do, and not what you can’t do. Read my full piece in @theobserveruk where I set out my vision for reforming England's education system - from tackling the SEND crisis to reimagining what success looks like beyond exams. observer.co.uk/news/national…

Maybe there would be enough funding if we all paid council tax and stamp duty?
For too long, Westminster has stood by while our high streets fell into decline. That ends now. We’re giving local people and councils more control over what opens on their high street - and tougher powers to crack down on businesses that aren’t good for our communities.

I will point out that Farage has triggered one by-election. Andy Burnham triggered two - all to satisfy his need for power. #Clacton

Why do you use X for communications and turn replys off? @LucyMPowell
Our education debate is stuck in the false choices of the past-outdated thinking that equates technical education with lower standards. Nothing could be further from the truth. By chasing success for more, we’re raising expectations for all children. My @Telegraph article telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/08…

Bore off!
We must better prepare all our young people for the future not the past. That’s the government’s national ambition: not to hoard excellence but to spread it into the lives of every young person in the country. My new article for @Telegraph telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/08…

On a short break with the Mrs, no grandkids...Bliss... I'm nextdoor to an Instavolt EV charging station. I'm amazed by 2 things. There hasn't been a single vehicle on charge in the last 24hrs and comparing my petrol car is £20 cheaper on fuel. EVs are fine if you charge at home.

Africans stuff the little slave children in bags. Notice the corrupt UN says nothing, they're too busy accusing Britain of "crimes against humanity" for the 17th century slave trade.
Congolese children stuffed in bags are up for sale as “child labour” to the highest bidder. An estimated 40,000 children work in the cobalt mines of the DRC. Where is the outrage from Black Lives Matter and other organisations?
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This is a performative protest of the conditions faced by children working in the Congo cobalt mines. Bystanders repeatedly emphasize that this is a staged performance or "street theater" intended to go viral and highlight social injustice. Translation (English): x.com/NAFOBiHNL/stat…
