Since I am alone for Christmas (no family), I decided to choose and wrap 12 books from my growing TBR pile to put under my tree. This way I will have a "surprise" Blind Date With A Book to unwrap each month next year. Wrapping the books was not as easy as it looks on Instagram.
Review: The Missing Treasures of Amy Ashton by Eleanor Ray
Rating: 4⭐️
It is the story of Amy Ashton, an artist, who loses her way after her boyfriend goes missing at the same time as her best friend, causing her to spiral into a depression, which manifests itself into hoarding.
Catching up on my monthly "Blind Dates With a Book". After 4 months of great reads (4 & 5⭐️), I've had some duds...May & July were DNFs for me. Just couldn't get into them. They went into the donate pile. June was an okay read, but not something I would recommend.
Awesome find while decluttering...cassette tapes from my childhood. I heard my Dad's voice for the first time since May 1997 and my Mom's since December 2024. Quite a few tears were shed this morning...Priceless memories.
Just finished the eARC of @linwood_barclay's Not a Word (release date 08-25-26). It was a 5⭐️read for me (and not because he named a character Elaine - though it was cool). I think it is his best novel yet. I could not flip the pages fast enough!!! SOOOOO GOOD!!!
I am super excited!!! I am currently reading the ARC of @linwood_barclay's new novel "Not a Word" and there is a character named Elaine!!!
I am loving the book so far!!!
Thank you Mr. Barclay for naming a character Elaine...you made my day!!!
Thank goodness I have lots of books to read while I stay indoors this week...

wow...some Dad's are getting the ultimate Father's Day gift - the Lancaster just flew over my house. There is no mistaking the "roar" of the Lancaster.
Looking forward to a summer of hearing that "roar" every weekend since I live in the flight path of this amazing aircraft!!!!
I got book mail today!!!! Back in early 2024, I was selected to be a beta reader for Matthew Hall's novel "Totem". It has now been released and he sent me a copy of the final version!!! He said I have the first copy of the novel in North America!!!!
Super excited for this virtual author event with the Burlington Public Library (@BurlOnLibrary )!!!!
