ALT Campus message regarding AT&T network outage: This is a national network issue that could prevent people from sending text messages or making calls, including calls to 911. It is unclear when this issue will be resolved. Individuals needing to call 911 or the university’s Division of Public Safety and Security should: Use a landline where possible. Contact DPSS through [email protected]. Use a Blue-Light Emergency Phone. In the event of a campus emergency, those without cell service will still receive notifications via email if they are connected to WiFi. Alerts will also be displayed on digital signage across campus, and will also be shared through social media and on university websites. If your cell coverage is not working, and you have already enabled Wi-Fi calling, you should be able to make calls and send texts via WiFi. U-M services such as Google chat, Slack and Zoom are provided alternatives for non-emergency communications via WiFi.
