OK, this is scary as hell, and I do not trust Russia or our government at all to handle it.
Russia's plague outbreak is getting worse, now with 5 hospitals in Irkutsk quarantined, universities canceling classes and accusations from healthcare workers that the government is attempting a media cover-up.
Nearly 200 contacts of a 28-year-old anti-plague laboratory worker who died last week are reportedly under isolation or medical observation.
Irkutsk universities are canceling classes citing a “case of pneumonic plague,” while an aluminum plant introduced mandatory masks. A local government warning advising residents not to travel to Shelekhov was published and later deleted.
Healthcare workers claim doctors are discussing plague internally while avoiding the diagnosis in official documents.
Russian health authorities continue to deny any plague outbreak, attributing the woman's death to “pneumonia of unknown origin.”
Pneumonic plague is far worse that it's Bubonic cousin as its transmitted directly between humans.

Lynx offseason fact sheet:
Doing some offseason digging, seems like most cap sites are going with the assumption the salary cap will be set next season somewhere between 8.25 and 8.5 million.
Lynx have Courtney Williams, Kayla McBride, Natasha Howard, Nia Brodie, Olivia Miles and Ola Kosu under contract in 2027.
If that’s the case the Lynx will have 3.857 million in free cap space this offseason.
The 4% minimum would be at 330 thousand.
Max contract would be 1.650 million
Lynx active roster must be at least 12 active players, so 6 players must be signed.
If four players were signed at the minimum that would leave them with 2.537 million to spend on the final two roster spots.
Hypothetically, 1.65 for Napheesa Collier… and that would leave 887k to bring in 1 final free agent…
There are only 31 total UFA that played in 2026 that are hitting the market.
