Climate and Culture
The magic of Disney isn’t in the theme park rides. You can get that anywhere. The MAGIC is because of the PEOPLE ❤️ and how they make you feel.
Let’s bring that to our schools. A smile, a welcome it’s good to see you costs nothing but it’s a game changer.
Community partnership matters. We are on the same team #teamkids! Thank you to all who have donated @WayzataWest !
It is day 3 of the Best at West PTA fundraiser, and our current fundraising total is $8,823. Please consider donating by Friday via cash or check (made out to West Middle School PTA) or use the convenient online option - secure.givelively.org/donate….
Thank you for supporting WMS!

“There I am!” “I’m over here.” “No wait look at mine.” These self portraits are a great conversation starter multiple times a day. This simple community building activity has had a big impact on culture. #wayzatawestproud
Advisory activity 'Self-Portrait' becomes wall art for students to see each morning. #WPS #eachandevery #wearewest
I am so excited to welcome scholars to Wayzata West next week. Getting to know the staff this week and meeting learners during locker move-ins has affirmed over and over that @wayzataschools is an outstanding district with outstanding people!
Thank you @wayzataschools district leadership for welcoming us back with smiles and treats! Two locker move-ins and a productive workshop week behind us means we are READY and EAGER to welcome West learners next week!
1. I love how the learner story invites a learner to reflect on and track their learning via this accessible template. 2. I love how the learner story encompasses the whole learner rather than just grades. 3. #welldone @triciapettis10 and team!
In advisory we develop learners’ agency, but also a sense of identity and belonging. Through “circles” we set foundations for SEL work, making connections, and restorative practices. Learners reflect on these things in the “Learner Story”. #advisory #sel #belonging
