Honoured to lead the @_AfricanUnion C-10 Ambassadors in meeting @UN_PGA Dr. Khalilur Rahman. We thank the PGA81 for his clear commitment to #UNSCReform and to redressing the historical injustice against Africa. “Africa needs to be at the table, not on the menu." The 81st session must deliver. #CommonAfricanPosition #C10 #UNGA81
Pleased to meet with the AU Committee of Ten (C-10) on Security Council reform. We had a substantive exchange on the Common African Position and reaffirmed our shared commitment to deliver real outcomes this session. As I stated at the General Debate last month, Africa needs to be at the table, not on the menu.

On behalf of the C-10 Coordinator, H.E. President @julius_maadabio I spoke with @AJEnglish at #UNGA81 on @UN Security Council reform. The debate is over; the African Model is on the table. Reform the Council to save it. #UNSCReform #CommonAfricanPosition
Ambassador @MichaelKanuSL on @AJEnglish this week during #UNGA81 High-Level Week, he spoke about UN Security Council Reform and Africa’s clear position. The debate on whether the Council should be reformed is over. There is overwhelming support for the Common African Position, as set out in the Ezulwini Consensus and the Sirte Declaration. The African Model has been presented to Member States. What remains is the political will to act: to reform the Council in order to save it, and to give it the legitimacy it needs to be effective. Under the leadership of H.E. President @julius_maadabio, Coordinator of the African Union Committee of Ten on UN Security Council Reform, Sierra Leone will continue to canvass, promote and advocate for the Common African Position until this historic injustice is corrected. #UNGA81 #SierraLeone #UNSCReform #C10 #CommonAfricanPosition #Africa
