I've been out of the loop. Why are people calling for @conservmillen's head? She doesn't like a movie or something?

Amy Acton claims her mother and stepfather abused her as a child and that criminal charges were filed against them.
Acton's mother says that isn't true.
This conflict can easily be resolved by finding a record of the charges.

1978 Vindicator and court docs: Cledith Arthur bound over for rape of 12-year-old Acton. He and mother fled on bond after testimony; warrants issued. Brother confirms custody loss. Mother admitted process in 2020. 1970s records often undigitized.

And...@NRO obtains the legal docs. Whichever ad makers and strategists greenlit this without determining whether or not Acton's story held up should be tarred and feathered. Political malpractice of the highest order. nationalreview.com/news/amy-…

Ahem. Five years ago I wrote a column about DNA test results that showed there was a 99.999998 percent chance that Ilhan Omar and her second husband Ahmed Elmi were siblings. A few hours before we went to press my informant was arrested by Biden's FBI. Funny that.

After the better part of a decade as General Counsel at The Daily Wire, I’ve left and started my own practice in Nashville.
I joined DW as its first in-house attorney and built an entire legal function through years of extraordinary growth. It was an experience I couldn’t have gotten anywhere else, and I’m grateful to the founders and colleagues who trusted me and the attorneys who made me better.
My new solo practice offers:
Dealmaking: structuring and negotiating deals to set you up for success and avoid landmines without burning bridges.
Outside general counsel: fractional GC services for businesses who need more than a hired gun.
If you’re building a business or working in media and could use a trusted advisor, I’d love to talk. You can reach me at [email protected] or at joshherr.com.

How to write a @nytimes headline:
France's real problem is not that the migrants caused the burning; it's that the burning caused the migrants.
Yes, what's happening in France is awful. Yes, the immigrants are making it worse and should be deported.
But in fairness to the migrants, France has been doing this to itself every three years or so on average since 1789.

Tonight I preached on the Catholic teaching on the Common Good, the often called third way that does not reduce the common good to a principle derived from a democratic consensus nor simply the state preserving the rights of individuals.
The common good in Catholic Social expresses the importance of the natural law and that human flourishing both as individuals and as groups is derived from principles open to humans by use of their reason. The purpose of the state is govern by the application of prudence to the circumstances of a society.
I am also speaking consistently about the need for people of good will to form public associations as both an means of bringing these goods to bare in our society, but also a powerful antidote to the isolation and despair caused by modern society.
