The “Dancing Israelis,” were stopped in New Jersey on 9/11 after a neighbor reported them high-fiving and photographing the burning towers.
Sivan and Paul Kurzberg, Oded Ellner, Yaron Shmuel, and Omer Marmari worked for Urban Moving Systems.
Police found cash, plane tickets, and a camera.
They were held about 71 days, then deported for visa violations. The company owner left the U.S. days later.
Oded Ellner later said on Israeli TV that their purpose was to document the event.
