This is a horrendous assault on academic freedom, freedom of speech, and the freedom to conduct oneās class according to oneās position as a professor. This may well have a chilling effect on higher education. We must combat this autocratic impulse to constrain our ability to explore the very forces that oppressed minoritized and other vulnerable communities to begin with. It seems acceptable to subject millions to egregious injustice but not to expose and oppose it.
