Happy birthday to my beautiful wife, best friend, and life soulmate.
Love you dear!!!
In Avondale, Arizona, a palm reading for a tip is a misdemeanor. So is sitting still for a hypnotist. Section 15-1 says anyone who practices fortunetelling, palm-reading, or palmistry and takes any compensation — a fee or a donation — is guilty of a misdemeanor. Section 15-2 makes it unlawful to practice hypnotism, and unlawful to be the subject. The only carve-outs are a medical or dental doctor treating a patient, and hypnotism taught at an accredited college.
Both lines come out of the 1971 code and are still sitting in Chapter 15, next to a ban on spitting on sidewalks. The city is a West Valley suburb now, not a carnival midway. The ordinance does not care. A stage act is not the exception. A donation jar is not a loophole.
Welcome to Avondale, Arizona. Keep your future. Keep your trance. Unless you are the dentist.

US stock futures are higher Friday morning, October 9, 2026, with tech leading a rebound after Thursday’s selloff.

- **Dow:** 51,562, about +0.1%
- **S&P 500:** 7,846, about +0.4%
- **Nasdaq 100:** 31,209, about +0.8%
Thursday’s close was mixed: Dow +0.1% to 51,232, S&P 500 −0.5% to 7,765, Nasdaq −1.3% to 27,193. All three indexes are still on track for weekly gains, and the Nasdaq is set for a fourth straight up week.
**What’s moving markets**
- Oil is lower after President Trump said the US will not attack Iran before the November 3 midterms. WTI is near $90.60 (−1%); Brent is near $102.70 (−1.5%).
- Tech is recovering from Thursday’s AI scare. An FT report put OpenAI’s annualized revenue near $50 billion, below the circulating figure; Bloomberg later said OpenAI expects to reach or exceed $70 billion by year-end. Nvidia is up about 1.6% premarket; Tesla and Amazon are each up about 1%.
- Telecoms are under pressure after SpaceX bought a nationwide low-band spectrum portfolio. T-Mobile and AT&T are down more than 6%, Verizon about 5%; SpaceX is up about 3.7%.
- Gold is up about 1.2% near $4,180–$4,210. The 10-year yield is around 5.22–5.25%, off Wednesday’s high near 5.36%.

Thursday’s close was a split tape: chips and oil set the tone, and the Dow barely finished green.
$TSLA $SPCX $NVDA $AAPL $MSFT $GOOG $META $AMZN $WMT
**October 8, 2026**
- **Dow** 51,231.64, **+0.1%** (+52)
- **S&P 500** 7,765.36, **−0.5%** (−36), second straight loss after a record close
- **Nasdaq** 27,193.34, **−1.3%** (−345)
- **Russell 2000** 2,794.13, flat
Tech dragged the tape. A chip gauge fell about 3.4% after a Financial Times report that OpenAI’s annualized revenue was roughly $20 billion below what the company had previously signaled. That revived questions about how easily the AI spending boom can be justified. Energy was the offset: WTI and Brent settled up about 3.6% and 4.1% after Brent topped $104 intraday on Middle East tension, then eased after President Trump said the U.S. would not attack Iran before the midterms. Yields jumped in the morning and backed off after a solid 30-year auction. Most S&P sectors finished higher; technology was the clear laggard.
Week to date: S&P +0.6%, Dow +0.1%, Nasdaq flat. Year to date: S&P +13.4%, Dow +6.6%, Nasdaq +17%.
**Copy-ready post**
Market wrap, Oct 8: Dow +0.1% to 51,232. S&P −0.5% to 7,765. Nasdaq −1.3% to 27,193. Chips sank ~3.4% on a report that OpenAI’s revenue run-rate is well below prior signals. Oil jumped on Iran tension (Brent topped $104) then cooled after Trump said no strike before the midterms. Energy led, tech lagged. Second straight S&P loss after a record high.
