This breaks my heart and terrifies me at the same time. My condolences to the Sasakamoose family and of course, his extended family too. Your legacy will live on.
Fred Sasakamoose has died from COVID, his son announced in a FB live video this afternoon. One of the first Indigenous NHL players, he was in hospital for 5 days and the virus “did so much damage into his lungs” his son said. He passed away around 3pm in a Saskatchewan hospital.
