Days 22 & 24 — Inquisition, Nobility
Another pairing I really wanted to draw. I’ve come across this kind of story in songs so often that the idea came together pretty quickly.
I’ve got one more pair planned, but I’m saving that one for dessert ✨

Days 20, 21 & 23 — Weapon, Accolade, Heraldry
I figured if I have to catch up on overdue prompts, why not do it with a triptych?

Day 18 — Horse
Here’s a handsome horse for you! If I suddenly get rich, I won’t tell anyone — but there will be horse photos 😂

Day 17 — Armor
Started this one furious after dealing with people, so I ditched my own rules and experimented instead. An hour later I was calm and actually happy with it.
Do people ever drive you mad by sabotaging themselves?

Day 15 — Hunt
Tried filming some video today — I’ll try to turn it into a little clip soon!

Day 15 — Banner
Drawing feels so much better after a good night’s sleep 😌

Day 14 — Church
Yesterday I celebrated my 28th birthday, and today I’m already back to work!
I drew my favorite feature of churches from that period — a rose window.

Day 13 — Manuscript
So yeah, I suffered over this one for two days 🥲
But at least I’m starting to remember how to write those gothic letters again — crooked, but fun!

Day 12 — Tapestry
As a child, I loved lions, unicorns, and tapestries in museums. They felt almost real there.
So I drew my own tapestry — a little piece of that magical memory.
Any ideas for “Manuscript”? 😅

Day 10 — Lady
One-third done!
A portrait felt too obvious, so I chose a more telling gesture: a lady offering her kerchief. Such a gift was a sign of affection, reserved for someone who held a special place in her heart.

Day 9 — Swineherd
This swineherd is terrible at his job, but he knows one thing for sure: pigs are an awesome subject 😂
Do you have a favorite pig joke too?)

Day 8 — Marginalia
I adore silly marginalia, but this time I wanted something more serious. I took a line from a medieval ballad and blended its imagery with medieval aesthetics and my own style.
Did you recognize the ballad? 👀

Days 4–5 — Honor & Lion
Honor made me think not of glory, but of the price we pay to preserve it.
For Lion, I’m still searching for the right style. Here’s a winged lion: part of the tetramorph, symbol of St. Mark, royal power & Christ’s majesty.

Day 2 — Fortress
Cozy and peaceful here 🤍
Day 3 — Minstrel
Skipped posting last night, enjoyed my day off… so here I am, posting at night again 😬
Behold: scruffy, ridiculous, hunched minstrels!
Know what hares, snails & dogs meant in medieval art?
