Elon Musk just confirmed that its the beginning of Universal High income. Enjoy your last months before the abundance begins and we enter the golden era.
Universal high incoming is coming. Anthropic plans to put 5% of its shares into a Public Benefit Fund, subject to shareholder approval, with another 2 percentage points potentially added for every 50% increase in company value at the board’s discretion. The fund could support nonprofits or make direct payments to specific groups affected by AI, but it is not a commitment to universal basic income. Elon Musk supports the idea and is even calling for more direct payments to the general population. Anthropic seems certain: co-founder Jack Clark stated yesterday that we have now reached the singularity. Welcome to the future, friends!

Spotting a familiar face, chooms? 👀 You may remember seeing him in Konpeki Plaza during The Heist in 2077. Now, the renowned braindance director is making another appearance in Night City. @HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN returns as Hideyoshi Oshima in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2!

There is only one reason the United States hasn’t fallen and become a third-world country like countries in Europe. His name is Donald John Trump.

AI is gonna be so good for competition. Epic vibe-coded a speed improvement yesterday. Less than 24 hours later, steam beats them in speed and features. Gamers win.
Steam just got a little faster. Valve has released a new Steam update that improves startup performance. In a user test, Steam launched in 5.23 seconds, beating the 5.47 seconds claimed by Epic “vibe-coded” launcher Now Steam has pushed a major update and is faster than epic games >Improved startup performance >New Big Picture features >A new screensaver system, including the classic bouncing Steam logo >Steam Controller improvements > Several Linux improvements and fixes >A new experimental video codec for Remote Play >Lots of smaller fixes and quality-of-life improvements

Shadow of the Colossus now has a native PC port in development, based on the PS4 version! The project runs the game's original x86-64 code directly on Windows instead of relying on a full PS4 emulator. It uses Vulkan to handle the game's graphics and is built on the same technology behind the Bloodborne PC project. The current version includes: -Support for Windows 10 and 11 -A 60 FPS mode -Resolution options up to 4K -PS4 Pro graphics modes -Keyboard and controller support -Mouse camera controls -Performance improvements The developer reports around 67 FPS in the title-screen demo on an RTX 2060 SUPER with 60 FPS mode enabled, although performance drops in heavier areas. It's still a work in progress, and you'll need your own compatible PS4 game dump. The project doesn't include the game files or the Sony system modules required for audio. Another PS4 game getting closer to running natively on PC, without needing a full emulator. github.com/AjncSystem/Shadow…

In short, Microsoft saw the game decompilation efforts and went “holy shit, this can’t be stopped, how do we capture it?!” and their answer is XBOX LABS.
Today we're standing up XBOX LABS (labs.xbox.com). Here is the note that I sent to the team: Team, The first video games emerged some 75 years ago. In the time since, there have been booms and busts, but every year there are more great games to play, more devices to play them, and best of all, more people than ever playing. That growth helped make XBOX what it is today, and we've helped shape the industry in return, from bringing hard drives to consoles and online gaming through Xbox Live to Game Pass and cloud gaming, alongside franchises that have brought millions of people together. In recent weeks, we've seen games rapidly decompiled and rebuilt to run on hardware they were never originally designed to support. Windows PC builds have been translated to run on Apple Silicon or ported to run inside a browser through WebAssembly and WebGPU, the latter now approaching 90% global browser support. Perhaps more surprisingly, we've seen many of the biggest games in the world have been remixed into the source code of another. These experiments challenge long-held assumptions about our industry: the tether between software and hardware, the boundary between creation and play, and how people discover and experience games. While it is hard to predict the future of gaming, it is easy to see the possibilities in making great games easier to access, giving old games new life and allowing more players to become creators and co-creators. These are unmistakably good outcomes for players, even when (and sometimes because) they challenge our existing business models. To explore these possibilities, I’ve asked Scott to stand-up XBOX LABS, a small group of game makers, engineers and scientists whose job is to turn emerging ideas into things our players and developers can experience. We'll build in the open, learn from what people do, and measure success by whether more people are playing and creating. I think XBOX has an important role to play here. Coding became the first major workload for agents because they can write, run, and test software. Games share many of those same properties, and people spend more than 72 billion hours a year playing XBOX games, roughly five times the estimated time spent writing code worldwide. We've spent 25 years learning how to make great games, and I want our game makers to help shape what these new technologies make possible. As we learn, we’ll share the tools we build with developers across the industry, just as we always have. Our priorities aren't changing. We remain committed to the 4Cs, to making great games, to our hardware and to being responsible stewards of IP and the communities built around it. LABS gives us a way to explore new technology that is game design led without abandoning the work already underway. Asha
