Flames vs Oilers: every skater's Game Grade, sorted into tiers.
1
McDavid Sets the Table Twice in Oilers' Shutout of Calgary. Two assists, a penalty-kill shot and a plus rating as Edmonton ended the Flames' four-game winning run 4-0.
1
Seattle leads Toronto 3-2 in the second period, and the Kraken have the better looks despite Toronto firing more shots, 15-10. Matty Beniers rang one off the post while Seattle protects its edge.
3
Jarry stopped all 24 shots he faced as Edmonton blanked Calgary 4-0, ending the Flames' four-game winning streak. Howard and Michaels each rang a post, but it was Edmonton's night from start to finish.
11
McKenna has scored both Toronto goals, each on the power play, with Matthews assisting on each as the Maple Leafs pull even at 2-2 in the second period in Seattle. Seattle now has its first power play of the game.
9
Jarry has stopped all 21 shots he has faced, including all 8 high-danger looks, and Edmonton leads Calgary 4-0 in the third period. The Flames keep generating chances and keep coming up empty, with Wolf and Cooley both beaten at the other end.
12
Flyers vs Capitals: every skater's Game Grade, sorted into tiers.
15
Alex Tuch scored twice as Washington beat Philadelphia 5-2, and he has found the net 9 times in 11 games. The Capitals have pulled into the race with a clean, controlled win over a Flyers team that is still looking for its footing.
11
Colorado is pounding New Jersey in the second period, with a 37-14 edge in shot attempts and 21-8 on shots on goal, yet the Avalanche still trail 0-1. Connor Brown's shorthanded goal is the only scoring so far, and Jake Allen is the reason it's still standing.
19
In the second period, Jake Allen has stopped all 17 shots while Colorado holds a 30-13 edge in attempts, and New Jersey leads 1-0. The Avalanche keep pushing, but Connor Brown's shorthanded goal is still the only mark on the board.
20
Washington's quality edge ran deeper than the 5-2 final, with the Capitals creating chances at a 4.4 expected goals pace. Alex Tuch and Jordan Kyrou each found the net twice, and Philadelphia's push never fully caught up.
12
Jarry has stopped all 12 shots he has faced, including all 4 high-danger chances, and Edmonton leads Calgary 2-0 in the second period. Calgary keeps pressing the net and keeps coming away with nothing.
17
Tuch has 0.7 expected goals, the most of any skater, and Washington leads Philadelphia 3-1 in the third period. The Capitals have controlled the play, with a 45-28 edge in shot attempts.

Washington leads Philadelphia 2-1 in the second period after Jordan Kyrou's power-play goal at 07:14. The Flyers have not registered a shot attempt since 05:10, and the Capitals still have time left on the power play to work with.
24
Jacob Fowler was the whole show in St. Louis, a 9.8 Game Grade for stopping all 46 Blues shots in a 2-0 Canadiens win. Jackson LaCombe (9.5) drove the Ducks offense and Matthew Tkachuk (9.0) set up the Panthers in Winnipeg. Every player, every game, graded.
19
New Jersey has won seven of its last ten and is generating 4.1 expected goals a night, and that's the kind of tidy, controlled game that tests a Colorado side still giving up too many chances. The Avalanche have plenty of their own offense, but whether they can keep the Devils from getting clean looks will decide this one.
14
Toronto's chances are worth 3.5 goals a night, but they're giving up 3.6, and Seattle is at 3.7 allowed. Neither side can stop the other from getting shots. Whichever defence holds up better probably decides this one.
14
Askarov kept San Jose in it all night, but the Sharks could not solve Buffalo and fell 2-0 at home. The goalie did his part; the offense never showed up.
12
Calgary has won four straight and still has to fix a poor road record, while Edmonton has been less sure of itself at home than on the road. The Flames have controlled more of the play lately, but the scoreboard hasn't caught up to that.
16
Philadelphia has been outchanced over its last ten games, and the Flyers' road form has been the weak spot of that stretch. Washington's defensive looseness makes Logan Thompson's uncertain status a bigger question than usual.
