Excited to share our new study published in Nature Microbiology!
We explored the resistome of foods and food production environments using metagenomics.
This work is part of the EU-funded MASTER project.

We also found that some industrial processes and environmental conditions significantly influence ARG presence and spread.
This opens doors to interventions in food systems to curb AMR risk.
These insights are crucial for AMR stewardship and designing better policies to monitor and manage ARGs in the food sector.
