A wonderful morning spent at the Newcastle International Airport Topping Off Ceremony 🥳🎊

👏👏👏

Wonderful to catch up with the Speaker of the House, Hon @MiltonDickMP, and be presented with a replica version of The Mace to take to local schools in the Paterson electorate! Thanks, Mr Speaker.

Heartbreak in the shire but wow! What an almighty effort from the Knights.

Today we commemorate Vietnam Veterans' Day on the Battle of Long Tan anniversary. We honour the service/ sacrifice of all who served. Almost 60,000 Australians served; tragically, 523 made the ultimate sacrifice, incl. 19 from our region, and 3,000 were wounded. Lest we forget.

Absolutely devastated to hear the news of Black Caviar‘s passing. She was a champion. I loved following her spectacular career and regularly chatted with Peter Moody on the radio. I had the absolute pleasure of visiting her last year in her retirement.

I am proud to be delivering vital funding to improve road safety in our local community. #merylswansonmp #deliveringforpaterson #mymaitland

Our government is funding a 15% pay rise for early childhood educators, and fees will be capped for families. Thanks to all our amazing early childhood educators for the work they do and the care they provide. It’s a win for workers and a win for families!

What happened to the Wangi Queen on Sunday was unacceptable. We can share different opinions, but harassing people is not on.

👏 Congratulations, Murrook Culture Centre, on your well deserved win 🙌

Public Education Week has come to an end but it was great to get out to the Tomaree Learning Community to acknowledge the staff and students on their achievements this year.

#PublicEducationWeek is a celebration of our young people, their educators and all who contribute to their education journey. This was on full display on my visit to Irrawang Public School yesterday. Thank you to principal Stacy Mathieson and staff for putting on a great event!

Telstra have advised my office that they are upgrading their Kurri Kurri mobile base station, which will require a series of temporary outages or reduction in mobile coverage. Keep up to date here - telstra.com.au/outages

We're funding a 15% pay rise for early childhood educators. These workers are some of the most important in the country - and they deserve to be paid better.
