Since it was against the Raptors, I felt obliged to bring up this gem from Rajakovic back in 24-25

Kellen Thames is as rare as they come in modern college sports.
Born & raised in St. Louis & now played all 5 years at SLU even with a coaching change & now that loyalty is paying dividends for him🫡

I think it should be fairly obvious to those who watched Raptors summer league, in addition to Toronto’s 3 preseason games, who deserve these two spots…
It’s Tyreke Key and Nate Bittle.
Nate Bittle is a pretty straightforward case. He showcased in summer league, before injury, that he’s a 7-foot, long, switchable big with defensive upside, with passing intangibles and stretch-5 ability. With the Raptors lacking size at the center position, his ability to defend, space the floor and facilitate from the center position makes him a perfect fit for this team.
Tyreke Key’s case may seem a little less straightforward, but what he’s displayed in his minutes with Toronto, particularly in the preseason, were undeniable. Key averaged about 9 minutes a game in 3 preseason games for Toronto, in which he averaged 9.3 points per game, shooting 63.6% (7-11) from 3 on 3.7 attempts per game. While he’s a smaller guard, the spacing he provides for a team that lacks it and proving he can make the most in his limited minutes brings tremendous value for Toronto.

Tyreke Key is one of the guys that deserves to stay with the Raptors:
He’s so efficient at shooting/scoring:
Game 1: 15 PTS (5-9 FG, 4-7 3PT, 1-2 FT) in 16 minutes.
Game 2: 2 PTS (1-1 FG) in 7 minutes.
Game 3: 11 PTS (4-5 FG, 3-4 3PT) in 6 minutes.
7-11 from 3 (64%) through 3 games. 🔥🔥
The guys behind the scenes !!!!
Before the Billikens practice, a horde of @SLU_Managers control the court. These guys are the real bargain in the NIL era.

Tyreke Key full highlights vs. Miami Heat tonight (129-105 L) - pre-season:
15 points on 5/9 FG (55.6%), 4/7 from 3 (57.1%), 1/2 FT, 1 Rebound, 1 turnover, 2 PF, and a +/- of -11 in 15:36 minutes played off the bench.
He played only in the second half.
He is on an Exhibit 10 contract from September 24th, 2026
He was also on an Exhibit 10 contract last season with the Raptors, and later that season on a 10-day contract (before being waived both times)

Top 5 feeling right here: you’ve been working with a player on something and he executes it and you give each other one of these
