The Bamboo Expo 2026 at Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) has come to a close, bringing together stakeholders to explore how bamboo can contribute to environmental conservation, innovation livelihoods and sustainable economic development. On the final day, Mr. George Tarus, Secretary for Forest Development, representing Mr. Mugambi Gitonga, Principal Secretary, State Department for Forestry, emphasised the importance of bamboo and encouraged farmers to embrace its cultivation and explore opportunities across the bamboo value chain. Also present was Prof. Romanus Odhiambo, PhD, Vice Chancellor, MUST, as the University continues to champion research, innovation and partnerships for sustainable development.
