We are gradually losing some of our culture. Things that were considered normal during our parents time are slowly being ignored. A guy recently completed the roofing of his four bedroom bungalow, and some community guys came around to rejoice and celebrate with him, but he completely ignored all of them. There was a time when moments like this were treated almost like your child's university convocation. You would prepare food, drinks and something to share with the community people around where you were building. It wasn't just about the house, it was about acknowledging the people around you and celebrating the journey together. Some of these little traditions may look insignificant, but they were part of what made communities feel like communities then.
