Update on the Chart of the Century: GOLD/DJI
GOLD/DJI has broken above the 200-month moving average last year and successfully retested it this year. That is a very important development.
What makes this even more significant technically is that the 200-month SMA is also lining up with the old resistance zone from 2016 and 2020, which is now turning into support.
In the last 100 years, this ratio has stayed and sustained above the 200-month SMA only 4 times before:
The Great Depression
The 1970–80 mega inflation cycle
The 2008 Great Financial Crisis
and now this is the 5th time
That alone tells you we are likely heading toward a major monetary event in the coming years.
As per the “Chart of the Century” I posted in August 2025, my view remains that this event could become bigger than the previous 4 episodes, with the long-term projection being Dow equalling Gold in the most optimistic case.
This is the most long-term chart I track.
I keep coming back to it because it helps me stay focused on the bigger picture and not get distracted by short-term noise.
1/16
The Chart of the Century: Gold vs Dow
For 100 years, the Gold/Dow ratio has traced an expanding triangle (ABCDE).
We are now in Wave E — the terminal phase.
➡️ Elliott Wave target:
• Gold $20,000–$25,000 base case
• Silver $300–$500 (potentially >$1000 in mania)
• Gold/Dow ratio aiming for 20x from here, possibly retesting Upper trendline or a bit throwover
It seems unbelievable today. Bookmark this , in 10 years you’ll see how obvious it was.
The reset decade has begun. #Gold #Dow #ElliottWave #Reset #Markets #Macro #ChartOfThecentury

If only we could ask Alan Greenspan about how to deal with this debt problem.
Oh wait, Greenspan warned about this 20 years ago & 10 years ago, concluding, "Unfortunately, I don't see how we're going to get out of this before we have a crisis."
PS: Jamie Dimon agreed with him👇

The market is demanding a much higher price to hold duration because inflation uncertainty, energy pressure, fiscal supply, real yields and term premium are all being repriced at once. That matters because the 10 year is the transmission mechanism into mortgages, corporate borrowing, commercial real estate, equity discount rates and government interest expense. The longer this level persists, the more of the economy is forced to refinance into it.
The bigger danger is that the eventual break may come after Treasury yields peak. If credit spreads widen, refinancing windows close and growth expectations deteriorate, the 10 year can start falling while the underlying economy is actually getting worse.
So I would not view a future drop from 5.2% as automatically bullish. The sequence I would fear most is high yields first, cumulative financing damage second, credit deterioration third, then falling yields as the market finally prices the slowdown.

Look at replies to my OP at bottom
Consensus does not realize yet that rates are the ONLY thing you can cut (top cht) that does NOT trigger a western sovereign debt spiral w/US debt/GDP at 100-yr highs (bottom cht)
Cutting anything but interest is mathematically CERTAIN to trigger a US & western sov debt spiral w/US Net Int'l Investment Position at -$22tn while foreigners owe $13-14tn in USD-denominated debt, b/c the resulting USD spike would trigger a NIIP unwind that crashed UST mkts
Have to devalue debt/GDP 1st. Any austerity would be a root canal with a shotgun: Effective but fatal.

Habit 6: You Use Your Phone While It's Charging
What You Notice:
You plug in your phone. You keep using it. You scroll. You play games. You watch videos. It charges slowly. It gets hot.
What It Actually Means:
Using your phone while charging generates heat from two sources — the charging process and the phone's own processor. The heat compounds. The battery is being stressed from both directions. It charges slower because power is being diverted to the screen and processor instead of the battery.
The Insider Quote:
"Using your phone while charging is like running the heater and the AC at the same time. The battery is trying to charge. The processor is trying to work. Both generate heat. The heat damages the battery. If you're going to charge, put the phone down. It charges faster and the battery stays cooler."
What Changes:
Not using the phone while charging means it charges faster and the battery stays cooler. The battery ages slower.
What to Do:
Plug in your phone and leave it alone. Charge it while you're in the shower, eating, or doing something else. Don't game while charging. Don't watch videos while charging. If you must use it, keep it light — texting, browsing, nothing intensive.

Habit 5: You Charge in a Hot Place
What You Notice:
You charge your phone on the dashboard. In the sun. On a hot car mount. Under a pillow. Heat doesn't bother you. It bothers your battery.
What It Actually Means:
Heat is the single biggest enemy of lithium-ion batteries. Charging generates heat. If the phone is already hot, the heat compounds. Every charge cycle at high temperature ages the battery faster. A battery charged at 40°C ages twice as fast as one charged at 25°C.
The Insider Quote:
"People charge their phones in hot cars, under pillows, on the dashboard. The battery is being cooked. Heat destroys lithium-ion. Charging generates heat. If the phone can't dissipate it, the battery ages faster. I've seen batteries drop to 85% in 6 months from nothing but heat. The phone wasn't old. The battery was cooked."
What Changes:
Charging in a cool place means the battery doesn't overheat. It ages at normal speed. It lasts years longer.
What to Do:
Charge your phone in a cool, ventilated place. Take it out of the case if the case traps heat. Never charge under a pillow or blanket. Never leave it on a dashboard in the sun. If the phone feels hot while charging, unplug it and let it cool.

Habit 1: You Charge to 100% Every Night
What You Notice:
You plug your phone in before bed. You unplug it in the morning. It's been at 100% for 7 or 8 hours. You've done this every night for years.
What It Actually Means:
Lithium-ion batteries age fastest when they sit at 100% charge. The higher the voltage, the more stress on the cell chemistry. Every hour your phone spends at 100% is an hour of accelerated aging. Overnight charging means 7 to 8 hours of that stress, every single night.
The Insider Quote:
"The worst thing you can do to a lithium-ion battery is keep it at 100% for hours. Overnight charging is the number one cause of battery health dropping to 85% in the first year. Apple and Samsung both added charge limits for this reason. Most people never turn them on. They just plug in and forget it."
What Changes:
Charging to 80% instead of 100% can extend battery lifespan by 2 to 3 years. Your phone still has plenty of charge for a full day. You lose 20% of capacity but gain years of battery health.
What to Do:
iPhone: Settings → Battery → Charging → Charge Limit → 80%. Samsung: Settings → Battery → More battery settings → Protect battery. Or just unplug before 100%. If you need the full charge, use optimized charging so it holds at 80% until an hour before you wake up.

🚨 JUST IN: President Trump officially launches the "TrumpIRA" program opening up a low-cast IRA account for MILLIONS of Americans
This means they can get MATCHING FUNDS from the federal government in that retirement account
"Beginning at the start of next year, every American will be able to go to TrumpIRA(dot)gov and open a new low-cost IRA account."
"You'll then be able to access the same type of retirement accounts that federal employees enjoy through the thrift savings plans, which are incredible."
"As part of the federal savings match program, low-income Americans will be eligible to receive up to $1,000 per year in matching funds deposited directly into their accounts."
"For millions of Americans who lack employer-sponsored plans, this will be really revolutionary because they'll be covered. Nobody thought that was possible!"

Back in the late 1800s and early 1900s when millions of immigrants flooded our shores, no paperwork was required to immigrate. No passports, visas, or work permits. Anyone who could afford a ticket could board a ship, arrive in America, answer a few basic questions, and be on their way.
They could stay as long as they wanted, work wherever they wanted, buy property, start businesses, and basically do anything any American citizen could do. In fact, in most states, they could legally vote in local, state, and even national elections, subject to the same poll tax, literacy test, or other qualifications required of American citizens.
If they wanted to naturalize, they just needed to register their intent and were given seven years to complete the paperwork necessary to become American citizens, which millions of immigrants were proud to do.
Things began to change in the 1930s with the advent of social security numbers, and then more so with the Alien Registration Act of 1940, signed into law as a WWII security measure. When the war ended, instead of being repealed, in 1946 it evolved into what we now call Green Cards.
In effect, we had completely open borders and the country thrived. In fact, during the decades we now call the Gilded Age—the high-growth period that Donald Trump claims he wants to emulate—our borders were wide open. The reason this worked so well is that we had no welfare state. People came to America for freedom and opportunity only. They came to contribute to our economy, not live off it. They did not drain our resources; they added to them.
The lesson is that immigration is not the problem. The problem is the welfare state. Shut off that magnet and America will no longer attract people looking for free stuff. In fact, we need to turn off that magnet for everyone, so those who are looking for free stuff will leave to seek it out someplace else.
