Models continue to show torrential rainfall tomorrow morning through Sunday afternoon with widespread significant accumulations across northern Illinois. - Multiple rounds of torrential rainfall are expected this weekend. Saturday: The first round will begin 1-4am on Saturday and this wave will continue through lunchtime tomorrow easing up tomorrow afternoon with scattered showers and t-storms continuing off and on into tomorrow night with some dry hours mixed in. Expect heavy downpours with any outdoor activities. Sunday - The next round will begin late Saturday night (10pm and later) and this will continue overnight and throughout the morning on Sunday. The heaviest rain and thunderstorms will move east by lunchtime on Sunday but additional showers and t-storms will develop and move through Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening so any outdoor activities should be prepared for heavy downpours at times. Total rainfall amounts could easily reach 2-4 inches across northern Illinois with 4-6+ inches in spots by Sunday night. Flash flooding is likely especially in urban areas Saturday into Sunday.
