Through the Kenya Informal Settlements Improvement Project (KISIP2), we have upgraded key roads in Kalolo, Kibaoni, Baya Magonzi and Mtaani in Kilifi Town. The works include Msenangu Butchery Road, Kibaoni Primary School Road, Uwanja wa Water–Kaya Road and Samaki Poa Road, complemented by improved drainage, street lighting and footpaths. For residents, this means easier access to schools, homes and businesses, safer movement and reduced flooding risks. Our commitment remains clear: no community should be left behind as we build a safer, more accessible and prosperous Kilifi. #𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐭𝐮

Iwe usiku au mchana, Kilifi lazima ing’are! #𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐭𝐮

I sat down with DW Swahili at Deutsche Welle’s headquarters in Germany for an in-depth interview on Kilifi County’s development journey. We discussed the challenges my administration has faced, how we have addressed them, the milestones achieved across key sectors and our commitment to improving service delivery. Leadership is not about the absence of challenges, but the courage to confront them, deliver results and remain accountable to the people we serve.

I attended the 10th German-African Healthcare Forum 2026, held on the sidelines of the World Health Summit in Berlin, Germany, alongside CECM for Health and Sanitation, Hon. Peter Mwarogo. During the forum, I held separate engagements with Siemens and other leading medical technology companies to explore opportunities for acquiring MRI, mammography and echocardiogram equipment to strengthen diagnostic services in Kilifi. Our discussions also focused on streamlining procurement processes, ensuring value for money, and establishing sustainable arrangements for equipment servicing, maintenance and technical support. I further emphasised the need for German medical equipment manufacturers to partner with African training institutions to develop local technical expertise, ensuring that modern medical equipment can be effectively serviced and maintained long after warranty periods expire. The forum also explored stronger Africa-Germany cooperation in healthcare, the One Health approach linking human and animal health, local pharmaceutical manufacturing, research, innovation and data-driven health planning. Held on the sidelines of the World Health Summit 2026, which attracted over 4,000 participants from 130 countries and territories, the engagements highlighted the importance of international partnerships in strengthening healthcare systems. @DOHKilifi @KilifiCountyGov

I participated in a high-level roundtable discussion on Advancing Maternal Health Through AI-Medical Solutions at the World Health Summit 2026 in Berlin, Germany, organised by the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) in partnership with Philips. Joined by Kilifi CECM for Health, Hon. Peter Mwarogo, I engaged with Prof. Marleen Temmerman of Aga Khan University, Nairobi, Dr. Matthew Rielly of Philips, Prof. Stephen Rulisa of ECSACOG, and Dr. Jirair Ratevosian of Duke Global Health Institute, alongside doctors, researchers and healthcare experts from across the world. Our discussions focused on AI-supported point-of-care ultrasound, a technology that can bring essential pregnancy scans closer to mothers, support early detection of complications and enable timely referrals, particularly in underserved communities. I shared Kilifi’s journey in implementing healthcare innovations, the challenges encountered and opportunities to expand these solutions through stronger partnerships, training and investment. #worldhealthsummit2026

KILIFI’S BLUE ECONOMY SUCCESS TAKES CENTRE STAGE I congratulate the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Blue Economy, led by CECM Dr. Chula Mwagona, and the County Project Implementation Unit, led by Ms. Lucy Kapombe, following the publication of Kilifi County’s KEMFSED experience as an initiative to be emulated and benchmarked by the Council of Governors’ Maarifa Centre. Between 2020 and 2025, KEMFSED invested approximately KSh 1.48 billion in 287 sub-projects across 32 wards and six sub-counties, directly benefiting 24,519 residents, including 14,767 women. Through fisheries, aquaculture and mariculture, climate-smart agriculture, livestock, conservation, enterprise development and social services, the programme has helped communities diversify livelihoods and build greater resilience. This is what development must ultimately achieve: stronger livelihoods, greater opportunities and resilient communities. Well done to everyone who contributed to this achievement. Today, I am immensely proud of our county. According to the latest report by the Controller of Budget, my administration has spent KSh 6.3 billion on development in the 2025/26 financial year, out of a development budget of KSh 7.4 billion. That represents an astounding 84.52% development absorption rate — the HIGHEST among all 47 counties in Kenya! 🏆 What does KSh 6.3 Billion mean for our people? For us, this is not just a figure on a balance sheet. It represents real development happening on the ground: 🛣️ Better Roads & Infrastructure 💧 Expanded Water Access 🏥 Improved Health Facilities 📚 Quality Education 🏪 Modern Markets & Livelihood Support While the 47 counties collectively absorbed 54% of their development budgets nationally, I am proud that Kilifi led the entire country at 84.52%. We promised the people of Kilifi a people-centred development agenda, and this is what delivery looks like: moving resources from budgets into projects, and from projects into real benefits for our communities. 🔥 KSh 6.3 BILLION. 🔥 84.52% DEVELOPMENT ABSORPTION. 🔥 NUMBER 1 IN KENYA. We still have much more to do, but today, I can confidently say: We are not sitting on development money. We are putting development money to work!

For generations, the people of the Coast have waited for the security, dignity and certainty that come with owning land. Today, we are turning that long-standing challenge into tangible results. At Karisa Maitha Grounds, alongside H.E. President Dr. William Samoei Ruto, we issued over 36,000 title deeds to the people of Kilifi, giving thousands of families the legal security to own, develop and pass their land on to future generations. When my administration took office, we made a clear commitment to confront the squatter question and pursue lasting solutions to the land ownership challenges facing our people. Today’s issuance of title deeds marks a significant milestone in that journey. This is not the end of the journey. Before the end of this year, we will issue more title deeds to the people of Kilifi as we continue working to secure land ownership for more families across the county. I commend H.E. President William Ruto for partnering with my administration and for his commitment to working with us to address the land question and accelerate development across Kilifi. Our partnership with the National Government is about delivering results that people can see and feel in their daily lives. I will continue to strengthen this partnership and pursue every opportunity that advances the welfare and prosperity of the people of Kilifi. This is what partnership in government should deliver solutions, dignity and opportunity for our people. One family at a time. One community at a time. One Kilifi moving forward.

Team Kilifi at UNGA81 My administration is committed to transforming healthcare in Kilifi County by investing in stronger health systems, embracing innovation and building partnerships that bring quality and specialised care closer to our people. Today in New York, Dr Beverly Chepwogen Mitei, Obstetrician-Gynaecologist, Kilifi County, is representing Kilifi alongside our partners at the UNGA81 High-Level Week side event, “Connect · Power · Heal.” The global conversation is exploring how connectivity, energy, innovation and partnerships can strengthen healthcare at the frontline. Kilifi is at the heart of this conversation. Through our digital health partnerships, we are demonstrating how technology can connect our healthcare professionals with specialist expertise, support real-time collaboration and mentorship, strengthen the capacity of our medical teams and ultimately improve patient care. The session, “The Frontline: Kilifi County One Year On,” provides an opportunity to share Kilifi’s experience and the progress being made through these partnerships. For us, digital health is not simply about introducing new technology. It is about using technology to save lives, overcome distance, transfer skills and ensure that our people can access better and more specialised healthcare closer to home. Under my administration, we remain committed to working with our partners to scale these solutions, strengthen healthcare infrastructure, expand specialist capacity and ensure innovation reaches the communities that need it most. As Kilifi takes its story to the global stage, we welcome partnerships that can help us accelerate this transformation. From Kilifi to New York, our vision remains clear: a stronger, connected and more resilient healthcare system that delivers better outcomes for every resident of Kilifi County. @MPESA_FDN @Proximie @KenyaGovernors @MawinguInternet #UNGA81
