once trusted and deemed valuable, sam had been given the opportunity to learn blacksmithing and began being a vital asset to alexandria and hilltop.

daryl and others had spotted the two when they discovered the heads, them assuming the damage had been done by them (assumed to be whisperers) and were imprisoned, but after hours of questioning, they were proven innocent.

the two ended up losing the place they had built due to the other, leaving them on the road again. days turned to weeks, weeks turned to months. hungry and weak, they stumbled upon a divided section made of heads (alpha's boarder).

the two faced countless communities, countless levels of loss & pain with little gain other than one another. even then, their relationship had been tested by another seeking harm to them & the home that they had built as their safe base.

despite the challenges and sam's transition from grief to stability, somehow the two had worn down the protective layers that had been built up over the years, sparking the beginning of their relationship.

sam ended up stumbling upon casper, a man practically made up of skeptical thoughts and anger. but both being alone in a fight against the dᴇad was not an option. the two paired up, facing many challenges with the world and each other.

atlanta ended up being a place of false hopes, only sending him through a further spiral. he had no home , no family/friends, and was forced to keep pushing through the battles with his mind.

once his mother had passed , sam had set off towards atlanta due to broadcasts (before they stopped) suggesting a safe place for all to go . the journey was rough , path crossed by many through his episodes of grief.

as for his father (tom), sam had no idea where the man was and part of his vanishing from his mother had been to search for the corpsᴇ of his old man. he never found him though and has presumed him to be dᴇad.

sam ended up losing his mother (elizabeth) very early on into the end of the world due to his careless behaviour of vanishing and her having gone to find him after a three day missing period. he was the one who had to put her down.

ᴛʜᴇ ᴀᴘᴏᴄᴀʟʏᴘsᴇ: the fall of the world. him and his mother had boarded up their home, surviving together but sam was still reckless, always dissappearing, leaving his mother worried.

sam is an only child , one often surrounded by isolation due to how much his mother worked . he had very few friends , very few he had trusted .

his mother worked multiple jobs to support sam, but that didn't stop his out of control behaviours that had him in endless fights, shoplifting, consuming alcohol and anything else that numbed the pain of his reality.

ʙᴇғᴏʀᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ᴀᴘᴏᴄᴀʟʏᴘsᴇ: sam grew up with his mother on the southside chicago with a father that only came around when he needed something. his father and mother were both alcoholics, but only his father had been physically abusive.

sᴋɪʟʟ sᴇᴛ: sharp shot with firᴇarms, but prefers a bow and arrow as a wᴇapon of choice. skillful fighter due to his past life, but only uses as self defense now. excellent blacksmith/handyman , always ready to help . knows sign language.

ᴘᴇʀsᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ: often described as level headed and over trusting, even after being burnt too many times because of it. calm spoken and empathetic for the most part, unless forced to be other.
