Today marks three months since ENDPAPERS came out into the world! Thank you for buying it, requesting it from your library, reading it, shouting about it, and celebrating it! What a wild, wonderful ride. I'm so very grateful 💖

It still takes my breath away to see ENDPAPERS displayed in bookstores. Thank you for the fancy write-up, @FlyleafBooks!! And for comparing the novel to the work of @Kristen_Arnett, Antonia Angress, and Torrey Peters! ✨Swoon✨💕

Judy Heumann dedicated her life to the fight for civil rights—starting as a young organizer at Camp Jened and later helping lead the disability rights movement. Michelle and I were fortunate to work with Judy over the years, and are thinking of her family and friends.

ALT Image description: A black and white photo of Judy Heumann. In the photo, she has short, chin-length hair and octagon-shaped metal glasses and is speaking into a microphone while seated in a manual push wheelchair. She is wearing a coat with a large button pin with words that read “SIGN 504” in very large block letters and “HUMAN RIGHTS ACCD” in smaller block letters.

.@judithheumann has passed. I only met her briefly, a handful of times, but I still feel the loss along with countless others who’s lives were changed forever by her work. It’s no exaggeration to say that her legacy will ripple throughout human history.

Stop trying to please people. Most of them aren’t even pleased with themselves.

57 million Americans still being left out, 32 years after ADA passes, less than 3% of disabled characters on TV, of those only 5% are actually disabled actors. It's worse for writers, producers, directors and executives. Might be a story in there... maybe. Just possibly? Hello?

It takes a monster to kill children. But to watch monsters kill children again and again and do nothing isn’t just insanity—it’s inhumanity.

Okay. Today we're gonna have some wins. Maybe it's just sun on my face on a walk. Maybe it's reading a few pages of the new book I'm reading. But I am inviting joy in today.
