Our panellist from EU Sister Project IMPROVA Project EU Gonneke Stevens is Professor of Adolescent Health and Wellbeing at the department of Interdisciplinary Social Science at Utrecht University, the Netherlands.
Her research focuses on whether and why adolescent mental health varies as a function of proximal and more distal contexts. These contexts include the family, peer, school, neighborhood and the country in which adolescents grow up in. Moreover, she examines time trends and social inequalities in adolescent (mental) health.

Our panellist from EU Sisters Project @RECONNECTED Arlinda Cerga Pashoja (@Arla10) is an Associate Professor in Psychology and Director of the Research Centre for Applied Health and Wellbeing at @StMarysU Twickenham, UK, and Principal Investigator on the EU-funded RECONNECTED, MENTBEST and PROSPERH projects.
With over two decades of experience in NHS services, research and lecturing in mental health, her work bridges mental health science, digital innovation and evidence-based policy.
In RECONNECTED, which takes a complex systems approach to understanding how global developments affect mental health, Arlinda leads the UK site focusing on migrants. The project develops empowering, non-stigmatizing digital interventions to strengthen mental health literacy, psychological resilience and social participation among vulnerable communities across Europe.
She has recently led the development of the policy White Paper Availability Is Not Accessibility, which sets out recommendations to improve migrant access to digital primary and mental health care in London.

#MENTBEST panellist Gentiana Qirjako will join the upcoming webinar, “Translating Networked Science into Evidence-Based Health Care Policy”, a series of webinars discussing mental health. Gentiana Qirjako is a Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Medicine, Tirana, where she serves as Head of the Department of Public Health.
She is a public health expert with more than two decades of experience in research, teaching, health promotion, and project management. She is currently involved in several international projects supported by the @EU_Commission and international organisations, including @WHO and @UNICEF .
Her main areas of expertise include health promotion, mental health, child and adolescent health, and the development and implementation of evidence-based public health policies and interventions. She has contributed to the development of national public health policies in Albania, including the National Programme for Suicide Prevention 2025–2030.

Every year on 10th September, #WorldSuicidePreventionDay reminds us that #suicide is not inevitable. It is preventable.
Suicide remains one of the leading causes of death worldwide, with #depression as the most common underlying condition. Yet #stigma, #silence and lack of access to care still stand in the way of too many people getting the help they need.
