I genuinely think this frostys is going to be very important for the 2xko scene as it will be the first major after the end of life and we really need to get as many people there as possible to show that we still want to keep playing this game even after the riot support ends. If u compete for 2xko please get out there i want to see everyone there.
got bored one day and wanted to learn basic video editing... worked on this before the announcement and decided to finish it

I built a petition — to show Riot what this community can offer: designers, artists, marketing, finance, content creators, all ready to help keep this game alive.
And more importantly, what's in it for Riot.
Please share. Details below.

I knew this was coming, but honestly I'm just sad with how much potential this game had.
Best netcode free
Duos is peak fighting games
Amazing PvE mode potential
Free to play
Afraid it will be long time before we see something this ambitious again because Riot fucked up 😭

This is tough. It’s not the outcome that any of us had hoped for. I’ve been playing fighting games for over 30 years, made so many amazing friends along the way and have been lucky to experience some unbelievable moments across many legendary titles. I dreamed of one day creating something special for the FGC to help enable even more of those moments. I wanted to give back to the community that had given me so much.
2XKO is the culmination of that dream. This is a dream shared by every member of our team. The amount of love and passion everyone who has ever worked on this game has put into it is unreal. The team delivered a fighting game where you could fight against your friends or choose to take on the world together alongside them. They delivered and elevated League of Legends champions in ways that only a fighting game could.
We made a called shot when 2XKO was born as a mixed mode solo/duo game that if two of the top 8 slots of Evo were Duos, then we have achieved our goal of making playing with a friend a competitively viable endeavor in fighting games. The Evo crowd was treated with the first 2XKO top 8 match on finals day being a duo vs duo match sending one team home and deciding who is the strongest duo. This was unbelievably special for the team.
Even though we are ending active development at the end of the year, I am glad that folks will be able to play 2XKO beyond that, and that the love poured into it will live on. The team is giving everything they’ve got to deliver a final version of 2XKO to you that everyone can be proud of. We can’t wait for you to play Lux and Samira, so please look forward to them.
Thank you to everyone who has worked on 2XKO for creating a really special game, and thank you to all of the players who created moments we will never forget.
Replying to @riotgames @Play2XKO
> Makes a banger ass fighting game
> Fires half of the team
> Remaining team does a phenomenal job leading to the game being the coolest and healthiest it’s ever been
> Kills development after 8 months
Wtf riot

Absolutely loved this game, and still do in a lot of ways.
Keep on queuing, folks. I still boot Umvc3 to this day, and it's been 15 years. Let's keep grinding 2x 💪

so infuriating how these corporations try to launder culpability through their audience when the time comes for layoffs and shutdowns. you didn't wanna spend for another year of upkeep, fine, but please shut the fuck up w this

I honestly don’t have words for how shit I feel about this announcement.
2xko for all its flaws is the most interesting fighting game released in over 10 years but due to awful marketing, direction and internal issues it will never be fully explored….

They weren't satisfied with being like top 5 fighting games out right now and axed it genuinely am never supporting this company and I BEG people to not be bummed and depressed about this GET FUCKING ANGRY

I'm so devastated about the 2xko news. That game is truly special to me and so much love has been put into that game. I'll continue to play it after active development ends because I love the game that much.

Pretty sad honestly. 2XKO really changed my life and brought back a fire for competition I didn't think I could achieve. I will probably hard grind 2x for EVO france and Battle Coliseum then focus on tokon after. Let's send the game off with a good performance.
I told my friends that I met playing 2X this week I could see myself playing it as one id my ‘forever’ games
A shame shitty corporate bullshit + fgc elitism ruined what a truly special game with some great mechanics, netcode, and char design.
Bunch of greedy C suite wankers.
though active development is ending, the 2XKO team is still here through the end of 2026. our goal now is to do right by the players that have invested in us.
