If you need a literary gift for the young children in your world, CBC Books has chosen Derek Mascarenhas and Meneka Repka’s picture book “The Mango Monster” as their top pick kids book for 2024. 👏👏 I LOVE this book. It’s fun & the perfect amount of scary for the ECE age (4-7).
Screenshot from a CBC article about my post. Image shows the cover of the book “The Mango Monster” featuring two brown skinned children under a mango tree looking a bit scared. To the right of the book is a photo of Meneka Repka, the illustrator, and to the left is a photo of Derek Mascarenhas. The link to the original article is in the second post.

A deleted scene from The Mango Monster by @dpmasca and published by @owlkids ! This got cut pretty early, but today I decided to work on it a bit more as a fun little bonus. If you want to see what ended up in the book, you can pre-order now or find it on shelves September 15th!
