5/6 — Meme 13 Apr 2016. A 13-year-old, Matt Beton, could not buy crypto. He mined ETH on a GTX 970 to experiment on mainnet. He deployed a 0-decimal token named Meme. Minting required submitting the exact cube root of an on-chain challenge. He solved it 257 times and disappeared. The name came from a friend obsessed with memes who had built a meme-sharing platform. Rediscovered years later. Remaining supply hard-capped at 690,420.
