At some point, we need to drop being a fan of other clubs around and actually praise what we’re watching. Arteta has built this club brick by brick, and what we’re seeing now is the result of years of work, improvement and evolution. They’re no longer just a team with a clear style of play, they’ve different ways to win football matches. They’re that crazy. They can dominate you with the ball, they can suffer without it, they can grind out a result, they can control a game from start to finish, and they’ve become much better at adapting to different situations. And that’s how Arteta play, it’s you the opponent that will decide what you want. You want rugby football, E Dey. You want fine sexy ball, E Dey. That level of adaptability doesn’t happen overnight. It comes from coaching, recruitment, mentality and players who have bought into the manager’s ideas. You don’t have to support Arsenal to appreciate what Arteta has built. Sometimes, you just have to put the rivalry aside and recognise when you’re watching a genuinely well built football team.
