Devizes local election candidate fails to meet required criteria to be on ballot paper. A mistake, they say. Remember the 2021 PCC Election that cost the public £1.5m to rerun after another Tory mistake. Report on @devizine1 website. devizine.com/2025/04/19/devi… #localelections

New data on farms and inheritance tax: a third of farm estates over £1.5m aren’t farmers but wealthy people avoiding IHT by sinking money into farmland. The Budget hits farmers too hard and tax avoiders too lightly. It needs to change.

Rich countries are failing to deliver the $1tn/year needed for developing nations to combat the climate crisis. Instead, we see vague promises and empty numbers. The global south deserves more than lip service. 💔 #ClimateFinance #Cop29

Let's remember this when the local elections are held in May 2025. Wiltshire Council's refusinal to engage with an independent local newspaper in response to a critical article is the stuff of the playground! 😡 melkshamnews.com/concern-ove…

We'd probably all agree that joined up digital health records are good but want to be confident that the provider is trustworthy, not just in it for profit/to scrape our data. Palantir has capital investors as major shareholders (wiki). Contract info: goodlawproject.org/update/nh….

Infuriating. The fact that our elections aren’t representative, and can be easily manipulated in a range of ways, is the core reason our country is in a mess.
Rushanara Ali spoke about the integrity of our elections To an almost empty chamber Is this why it was so easy for Russia to interfere in the Brexit referendum, and why May, Johnson, Truss and Sunak all ignored Russian interference in our referendum - because almost no one in parliament seems to care about the integrity of our elections 🤷‍♂️ Meanwhile, over in Moldova, on the same day as their referendum to join the EU, they called out Russian interference in their referendum

This org - formerly Virgin Care, now rebranded and owned by Twenty20 Capital - has been given the care contract in our constituency. Do we really want more NHS awards to private investment companies whose motivation is making a quick buck for shareholders? en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/HCRG…
