So,
so you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell,
blue skies from pain
Can you tell a green field
from a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
Did they get you to trade
your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
Did you exchange
A walk-on part in the war
for a lead role in a cage?
How I wish,
how I wish you were here
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fishbowl
Year after year
Running over the same old ground, what have we found?
The same old fears,
wish you were here

Breathe, breathe in the air
Don't be afraid to care
Leave, but don't leave me
Look around, choose your own ground
Long you live and high you fly
Smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry
And all you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be
Run, rabbit, run
Dig that hole, forget the sun
When, at last, the work is done
Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one
Long you live and high you fly
But only if you ride the tide
Balanced on the biggest wave
You race towards an early grave

💫I wonder if the people in the audience realized in that moment they were witnessing and listening to one of the greatest guitar solos known to man with no fanfare, just pure incredible music coming together in that one singular moment. This song, this version with the solo is a masterpiece for all time.
✨What really gets me is that Mark Knopfler doesn’t even seem to realize he’s making history when he plays. He looks so calm and normal, not stressed or trying to impress anyone. He’s just in the moment, not taking it too seriously, and yet something incredible is happening.

I fell in love with it the very first time I heard it! No matter how many times I watch it, it’s still indescribably good. It’s truly astonishing that she’s self-taught and can sing like this! 😍🎤✨

Dire Straits 🎼Solid Rock 🎸
Well now, take a look at that
I made a castle in the sand
Saying this is where it's at, y'all
Couldn't understand now
If I realised that the chances were slim
How come I'm so surprised when the tide rolled in
Gonna live, solid rock
Gonna live, solid rock
Wanna give, I don't wanna be blocked
I'm gonna live on solid rock
Well, I'm sick of potential
I'm sick of vanity now
I'm sticking to essential reality now
I don't know what's worse
Try to make a silk purse
Living an illusion in confusion
Gonna live, solid rock
Gonna live, solid rock
Gonna live, I don't wanna be blocked now
I'm gonna live on solid rock
Ya know a house of cards
Never built for shock
You could blow it down in any kind of weather
Now you take two solid blocks, two solid rocks
You know they're gonna stick
Yeah they're gonna stick together
Yeah, because the heart that you break
That's the one that you rely on
The bed that you make
That's the one you got to lie on
When you point your finger 'cause your plan fell through
You got three more fingers pointing back at you, yeah
Gonna live, solid rock
I'm gonna live, solid rock
I wanna give, I don't wanna be blocked
I'm gonna live on solid rock
Rock, solid rock, rock, rock, solid rock
I wanna give, I don't wanna be blocked
I'm gonna live on solid, solid, solid, solid rock
Rock, rock, rock, rock, solid rock
Solid rock!

No matter how many times I watch this, Rami Malek's Golden Globes speech never fails to bring tears to my eyes. 😭✨
The love and respect for Queen in this moment is unmatched:
"Thank you to Freddie Mercury for giving me the joy of a lifetime. I love you, you beautiful man. This is for and because of you, gorgeous. mwah!"
Seeing Brian and Roger smile proudly from the audience makes it even more beautiful. 🎬❤️

Absolutely amazing—they deserved the Golden Buzzer. It really felt like their inspiration came straight out of the video game Mortal Kombat 🎮🔥
